New Sinn Models For BaselWorld 2020
Re: New Sinn Models For BaselWorld 2020
The U50-T SDR is the tempting one for me.
Re: New Sinn Models For BaselWorld 2020
The U50 should have came out years ago ahead of that little 38mm version they had before.

Agree with Andrew’s comment on the dress Sinn watches.
The U50 is going to be a big seller. Honestly I’m hoping I can grab a cheap U1 when the U50 comes

Re: New Sinn Models For BaselWorld 2020
So the U50 has better proportions for me and I’m thrilled Sinn finally came out with one. Out of all the other stuff that’s new, this is the most interesting but...
I’m not sure they needed to make a scaled down version of the same exact watch?
New hands would have been a nice departure, blue dial would have been amazing, a GMT would have been a home run.
That’s said I’ll most likely still get one.

Re: New Sinn Models For BaselWorld 2020
new hands wouldn't have been a U1. i think those lego hands are a huge part of what makes it what it is. i just wish they'd done the hands/dial markings more proportional instead of just making the hand length shorter.
considering how long people have hankered for a smaller version of the U1, i agree that this will probably be a good seller.

It’s a winner for sure! Sinn has created a perfect U1 for those with slimmer wrist or those that thought the U1 is too big.
I did notice the upgraded movement though- SW300.
While I have zero complaints with the SW200 in my U1 Pro...+-1 spd

With Seiko and Sinn's home run new releases, the sales forum here should be active this summer.

The more I look at it....U50S
At 11.15mm thin, it’s going to be a strap monster

These will be out for a long time with different iterations. I’ll be waiting for a white dial, lol.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

I don't suspect Chris is interested in designing a watch he would never wear. Not sure the U50 Pro will happen, but then again I don't know anything.
And yeah, the U1 Pro is still my favorite. By miles.

44mm with 50mm L2L still looks great on a small wrist. This new 41mm will be easier to wear under the cuff.

Re: New Sinn Models For BaselWorld 2020
I don’t know that I’ve ever wanted the U1 to be smaller. It’s 44mm, sure, but it is really short lug-to-lug.
Lighter, maybe, but never smaller.

Re: New Sinn Models For BaselWorld 2020
I'm guessing these will sell well, but will be flipped quickly because they'll appear tiny for most. I have little wrists and the 44mm Sinns have never felt too big, heavy or bulky like most others in the same size. They also look proportional on me. These are going to look tiny on anything over a 6.5" wrist.
They should've put a dome crystal and UX hands. Then it'd be more unique, svelte and sexier.

I agree that the U1 look great on the wrist- so it does make me question that same look shrunken down.
it will wear a lot better for most people. And it won’t be 110g which is a big +
Pretty much exact size and weight of an ezm2

why would you want a U50 when you have this? EZM2 much nicer imho...BBK357 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 5:52 amI agree that the U1 look great on the wrist- so it does make me question that same look shrunken down.

Agreed!
After wearing my EZM9 & T1’s, weight and thickness are my issues with the U1 series.
***Maybe Sinn will make a U500 in the future. SW300,11.15mm thin & 85 gram head weight would be awesome***

Re: New Sinn Models For BaselWorld 2020
I like that they released a smaller U1, there is a market for it and it’ll sell well. I agree that many don’t realize how small it’ll wear until they strap it on.
I’d have liked different hands a la UX-U2 personally as i think the LEGO hands is what I’ve tired of quickly.
The new U50SDR is super tempting for my 6.8” wrist but it’s a bit $$ Id probably bave to source it from Europe or buy used later.
Overall not super exciting release news from Sinnn.

yeah, but to be fair, brice, you've sold the BWITW double digit times.
i actually like the quirkiness of the lego hands. that's what helps make it feel so different from everything else in my collection.

The U1 hands are awesome, it is what makes the watch. To be honest, even with my small wrists and usually favoring sub 42mm watches, the U1 wore great on my wrist *except* for the weight... which was made even worse when wearing it on the (awesome) bracelet. I ended up wearing all my U1's on the Sinn rubber or an Iso most of the time. So, yes I'm happy Sinn released the U50... but my plan is to snatch a cheap U1.

Re: New Sinn Models For BaselWorld 2020
I'm in the exact same boat. Weight is the issue. Size is not that different than my SBDC015 Tuna (super short lugs, 44mm dia) which is fine for a weekend tool watch. I have tried various U1's and they just always wore a little uncomfortable. A Titanium version would be great..... but a U50 is also great.Joeprez wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 11:46 amThe U1 hands are awesome, it is what makes the watch.
