The U1-P has been on the bracelet since its arrival in August.

I thought I would try some straps out for a change.


However, the bracelet removal did NOT go so well.






Is there a trick or just be patient working one side at a time with pressure in the middle?

Damn! It’s a tight one. Just need to be patient. Press up on the outside of the endlink while you release one side of the spring bar and then the other. It was one of the harder ones to pop out that I’ve tried.

Patients is required getting them out.

Or buy one of those spring bar “tongs”? They grip both sides at the same time

The strap isn’t easy, either. For that add some liquid soap.
That pliers tool is a help.

First you’ll need to straighten out the tip on your tool
That didn’t sound right

Press in the spring bar through the lug holes. Pressing lightly on top, towards the underside, just get the tip out, then do the other side. Reinstall with double flange spring bars. Terry has some if you don’t. Good luck

Yeah, I've bled a few times on strap changes, and also had spring bars go flying in all directions. The U1P should not be as hard with the lug holes (as opposed to the EZM 1.1 where it took me twenty minutes to get the bracelet off because the stock bars don't have very good flanges - replaced with some from Terry and now it comes off easily). And yeah, that plier tool won't help since the U1P stock spring bars don't have flanges (since it has lug holes).

Anyway, on my U1P I insert the tip all the way in, and (as mentioned by Shannon) with pressure on the end link, pull out the tip. Spring bar always pops right out. Maybe your end link(s) are wedged in a bit and might take a bit of shimmy action to release? Good luck!

Yep, I find it easy to get out (a little tougher to get back on though). Push spring bar in, and pull endlink straight out while spring bar still pushed in. This unseats the spring bar from the lug hole. Do the same thing on the other side, and you should be good.

^^^This. I use a push pin for drilled lugs. But keep pressure on the center link the whole time.

If you do not apply pressure to the middle link the spring bar will keep engaging into the drilled lug. If you apply pressure and push the spring bar in at the same time you will feel the spring bar actually disengage and hang on the lip of the drilled lug hole. Once that is done go to the other side. Do you sell a springbar plier? If not, you should. Nobody sells one with every possible tip size ( ) included. I think you could get a lot of sales if you undercut the other brands by cutting some corners on the plier itself (they don't need to be nice) and then spec'd super quality tips (here is where it matters).

Just sell it to me and save yourself the trouble. A man of your age can’t be bleeding all the time.

I do not. The cost is crazy on them. The only decent ones I found start at almost $60. They work great but the issue is the tips are to wide. So they won't fit Tudor/Rolex/Monta bracelets. The higher end versions have the slimmer tips. But they start at around $80 last I checked.

I honestly have to say I do not like them. Maybe I am not graceful enough but every time i used my Horotec's the spring bars shot across the room.

My whatever brand is perfect for omega and awful for Rolex. It needs the smaller tips and I need magnification and good light. That shit is hard to see.
