Sinn SDR Question
Sinn SDR Question
Just wanted to hear from anyone that has had or still has a Sinn SDR version. I have already had a few of the regular U1 and UX versions and in pictures the SDR.versions look awesome but I wanted your opinions. Is the bezel coating pretty durable, how does it wear and look in person, is it less versatile I'm an IT Security guy so I'm sure I could pull it off most days at work. I'm thinking I either want an 857 non-UDT or a U1 SDR (at least that's what I'm thinking at this moment).
Thanks in advance!

I like both versions. The SDR makes the watch appear larger IMO, due to the continuation of the black from the dial. To my eye the standard bezel appears smaller. I prefer silver, but love the SDR on the U1P.
The black holds up great. It’s also easier to read the bezel numbers on SDR.

Re: Sinn SDR Question
Agree. Had an SDR I tortured, and never had any issues with the bezel coating in the 5 or 6 years I owned it. Now have a U1 Pro, and haven't had any issues with the bezel coating either, although this one is too nice to really torture.
Re: Sinn SDR Question
I know, and Chris would probably slap me for saying it. But I've gotta have some reason to wear the beaters (1200T, NAFT, Tuna)!

It's a Sinn not Kobold. LOL. I have no problem with Sinn DLC finishing to date.

All true. Sinn PVD just doesn’t seem to wear. Tough as nails.hoppyjr wrote:I like both versions. The SDR makes the watch appear larger IMO, due to the continuation of the black from the dial. To my eye the standard bezel appears smaller. I prefer silver, but love the SDR on the U1P.

Re: Sinn SDR Question
Glad to hear the PVD is super tough, I really don't beat on watches but would hate to hit it on something and mess up the PVD as I know it would bother me.
Yes I know I need to

Re: Sinn SDR Question
Bezel is tough, but after owning both I prefer the aesthetics of the regular bezel.
The 857 UTC I had was a winner though.
