Love this. Have been debating on putting one out by my pool in a semi covered patio area. But maybe a bit too pricey for me to risk outside...

yeah, my worry too. I just messaged Rob and he said it should be ok in covered area that isn't subject to rain since it has a mineral crystal and the battery is covered.
