Got my Sinn 103 back

Post by River Rat » Fri May 12, 2017 3:52 pm

Well just got my Sinn 103 with hand wind 7760 movement back from service from RGM. Had a brand new Sinn strap waiting for it. Dam great to have the sweep hand reset correctly and not out of realignment at different spots on the dial it was driving me nuts it just sat in the watch box. Glad to have it back.

That looks great. How long did RGM take to get it done?

Damn! That sucks Mike. Hate it when you have to send your watch back. Been there more than once.

At first I was happy that it's back
Then I was sad to hear about the hands
Then I was concerned as my Sinn is at RGM presently

Hope it gets sorted out

Well it mite not look great now the sweep hand no longer lines up at the twelve. And those suckers better pay for the shipping both ways or I will be pissed. Now I will have to wait tell after the week end to contact them. I hope they get it right when I return it hate to ship it back 2-3 times to get it right. One thing I liked doing it local in Calif easy to take it back if the watchmaker missed some thing and that happened a few times.

As others have said the watch looks great but it sucks that it has to go back to RGM again. I'm sure they'll get it sorted.

Look on the bright side, at least you don't have to keep shipping it back and forth to Germany and repeatedly paying import duties

Any one know if RGM cover the shipping when they mess up on a service it's not my fault they messed up. I told them about the sweep hand not lining up and going to different spot on the dial when you reset it one thing they should of checked out before returning it to me they were told.

Never used them but they most certainly should pay for shipping both ways.

1- mike rover rat, that 103 looks amazing ! I love the handwind with the date only. Dibs.

2- did you say 5 weeks?? I sent my 103 to them on 12/6/16. I just got my bill from them on 4/27!
I have no clue why it took that long, if I remember right I had to call and email them several times because I didn't get my estimate until 1/4. Anyway, I paid this week so hopefully I'll have it next week. Never got shipping noticed and I called today to ask why.... but Vikki was of course out of her office.
I had parts that they needed to get from Germany, but If I'm waiting for 4 months I should have just sent it to Sinn initially. I guess in my mind I was thinking it would be faster through RGM... wrong.

3- no surprise it didn't come back the way it was supposed to. My unique no 24hr dial 156 came back to me on Christmas Eve of 2015... only to have the minute hand reset to '50 instead of '00... and on my second try the hand actually fell off. The letter I sent to Vikki was probably the most volatile letter I've ever written. And look at me, I used them again.

All I can hope for is that mine comes back in good shape next week.

Received by Sinn Germany last week and she need a new crown and tube. Sinn would take another 3 months to review the watch for they have back loads to clear. I am ok with that.

A pic for you Mike,

That's not right. When the Sinn factory botched my repair at least they paid return shipping.

They did say they will pay for return shipping but the way I see it if they botched the job they pay both ways.
