I like the U1P, but if the market ends up being that strong, mine will certainly be flipped in favor of another black U2 plus some money in the bank account. It's a great watch, but I think you'd be nuts to pay more than WB sold it for.johnh1265 wrote:I see you have yours for sale on eBay at 5kgr8sw wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2017 7:22 pmCGSshorty wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2017 7:02 pmWorldwide shipping included. $5k..lol....ya never know, i guess.
Re: Sinn U1 Professional
I think it's an an interesting experiment what market will bear.
I could see U1PRO was worth $1K more compared to a regular U1 SDR shipped from Germany.
But at 5K...it'll be interesting to watch. I mean there's a SubC ND for 5400 on the forum...
Congrats to those who got one

There's actually a hardly used SubC ND on TRF with over four years of warranty for $5750. Lots of good deals these days.Panerai7 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2017 7:39 amI think it's an an interesting experiment what market will bear.

Re: Sinn U1 Professional
It only takes one person who "has to have it". It would have been more likely to bring $$$ when the USD was more devalued relative to the Yen.
Re: Sinn U1 Professional
This is 100% true. We had a hard time pricing this watch because it was quickly becoming a very expensive U1. We knew the watch had to be very special to choose it over a similarly priced U2.ericf4 wrote:at the end of the day, its a U1. a cooler U1 then what came before, but still a U1. I have overpaid for watches that rarely come up for sale. It is possible, I just think asking anything over 3k in the USA at this time is too early.

got a nice email from a gent last night calling me a 'greedy predatory neanderthal tool' for asking $4k and showing me wus ads I only posted it on ChronoTrader/OTD at $4k since they have lots of EU/Asian members, I don't expect to be selling to anyone in the US...

I love it, more power to you. I hope you get it! Why not? It's neither predatory nor greedy if someone will gladly pay it...the arguments for gouging always come from people with almost enough money, rarely ever from those that do.gr8sw wrote:just having a little fun here... summer doldrums... it only takes onePanerai7 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2017 7:39 amI think it's an an interesting experiment what market will bear.

I also hope you get it. There is only one person who should have any emotional attachment to this watch, and that is me. If someone is willing to pay you 5k for it, good for you.Grahamcombat wrote:I love it, more power to you. I hope you get it! Why not? I hear you. I've got some guns that are that way: one off's and serial number 01's and such that, while probably valuable, are almost (almost) priceless to me.CGSshorty wrote:I also hope you get it. I can't imagine what my non-serial numbered 1943 original OSS Belgian Browning Hi Power would fetch. With original magazines, of course.

Re: Sinn U1 Professional
It's legal. Just because there's no serial number doesn't make it illegal, the paperwork would note "NON SERIALIZED". My biggest hurdle is getting someone who understands and appreciates that most of the history of this gun is verbal history, like Native American oral history. The cool part of that is there's just five of us: it came to me 6 years or so ago, and the man before me got it in the early 70's. It's a fascinating piece, even how the research I did on it was done is pretty cool. It just needs the right buyer.Sidheguitarist wrote:^^^A lot. Assuming you could find a legal way to sell it. This sounds a bit harsh. Nuts to pay more than what WB sold it for...
I thought it was overpriced initially, but I also was comparing it to used U1's on recon that sell for $1200 on rubber strap.
I looked at WB site and see that a fully teg'd U1 on bracelet is $2520. The Pro was $2760.

-
That's a $240 difference for a U1 that has many features improved, and LE of 100.
Getting past the features, the overall look and dial and hand design are an incredible improvement.
My bro had an all Teg'd U1, and I remember handling it and checking it out, but overall I was not impressed by the U1 because of the dial and hand design.
I don't think you're nuts for paying slightly more for this watch.
And I can't even compare it to the U2. The dial is way too busy for this type of watch and it has a 24hr hand that not many people find useful. And it's $3230 on rubber strap.

^ It'll be interesting to see what happens. I really like mine far more than I thought I would. My ultimate Sinn is still the U2c, but they were even more limited (50 pieces) and I can honestly say I've never seen one for sale.
I don't think a LE UX has been done recently...maybe shorty can work with WB to spin one of them out. I'd be really interested in one.

A UX LE isn't something we have discussed. We have a lot of ideas that get bounced around, but that has never come up. I'll give it some thought.
