How Rare Is This?

Post by namor » Sat Apr 02, 2016 12:15 pm

I just got one of these sets, and have never seen one before. Only Sinn can create such great tactical watches and then - without any help from Bamford - distort them...
Image

It is a limited edition Sinn set, featuring the original version of the EZM2 which was issued to GSG9 back around 1999 - 2000. The collector set is housed in an aluminum attaché case, and includes a CD of GSG9 stuff, a Sinn minilight, a Boker ceramic bladed linerlock with the GSG9 logo on it, a Sinn water resistant leather strap (like the issued watches), the strap changing tool, and of course, the watch.

What is striking about it, and the feature I'd never been aware of, is the GSG9 full size logo dial on it. This was a very late model in the production of this style EZM2, before they were discontinued.

I was unable to discover how many were made, although a thread on TZ-UK stated 120 sets were made. All-in-all, a very unusual offering from the genuine issue company to this HSLD unit!

Very rare piece. I've only seen a few. Like JP said its not very versatile since the dial is a big logo- but a very cool piece.

Seen a few too. Not particularly valuable. It's interesting. Sinn has a special Talent for taking a great tactical watch and making a weird limited edition.

Remind me the 40 units of actual GSG9 watches were refurbished and sold to lucky owners.

Not two days after I got this, my real desire - a 3H EZM1 - was offered to me by a buddy in Germany. Posted it on ebay so I can reach for the 3H, and if any of you are twisted enough to want it, PM for a DWC price!

it's only got 7-8 visual elements on the dial. well, if you don't count the text that runs around the entire thing. and the giant bubble.

Where's the swastika? Are you saying the spear - Neptunes Spear - is a "rearranged swastika"?

Never realized what a mess the GSG9 logo was until now.

EDIT: Never mind... Just a modern interpretation. OG logo is the Imperial Eagle growing out of a plant.
