Sinn manufacturing video

Post by CGSshorty » Sat Mar 05, 2016 6:33 am

This is the video Sinn will be playing at Basel this year. There is some good footage here. Sorry, I can't embed it.

Great video, a Sinn is definitely in my long-term plan.
The planed trio is this: Rolex/Sinn/Seiko (after a lot of thought).
I wish to have enough funds for the EZM10, but the EZM13 will do.

That's kind of what I have; 114060, Seiko NAFT, Sinn EZM3F (+ Baltic Shield & Tudor Ranger). I'm actually pretty content.

NAFT

LOL

I've had a couple of Sinn and liked them. Hoping to add a chrono next time.

Ok, I'm going to be the nay sayer here.

The video is amazingly boring. The music sucks, and it's lazy. Sinn is an exciting brand with some of the most unique technology and features in the marketplace. The video screams at me "this is your grandfathers watchmaker". Ugh.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I get that it will be just looping in their booth on the trade show circuit, but to me, a huge Sinn fan....it completely misse the mark.

They should have had high beat music to accompany live action footage of the various proffesions their watches target, with transition text slides highlighting one or two of the technologies they bring to the table for those models.

Sinn makes watches to be in the field, the ocean, the air and the boardroom. That video, and especially the music do not drive that home the way it should. And more importantly, it does not tell me why they are different than anyone else. They have plenty of differences to brag about. Complete swing and miss.

Give me the budget for that movie, and I could do better with my iPhone, iMovie and the right soundtrack.

Rant over. Long live Sinn.

With the piano track playing in the background, you do get the feeling you were going for that "grandfather's watchmaker" vibe. Reminds me of the Patek video from awhile back:

^^^
Geez, for all the money Patek has, you would think they'd be able to afford a better script writer and actors.

Would have been much more interesting to see the part where he sells his dad's watch for more hooker and blow money.
