U1 Warranty

Post by Grahamcombat » Mon Jan 25, 2016 10:32 am

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions about Sinn and Watchbuys and the warranty process for the U1 I picked up. Watchbuys card is signed June 2014 so it's within the two year coverage. I gave the watch as a gift and was just told it "stopped working".

My biggest question is since I'm not the original purchaser is the warranty still valid?

If valid, do I send warranty repairs to Sinn directly or through Watchbuys?

And before we go down that road, let me add that I know, I know...you're not a fan...imo I threw my money away. seriously. I may not think so right now, and I may not think so ever...but you think I did.

again, your opinion only...if I like it, then that's all that really counts. That and you going and fucking your own face.

Any Sinn U1 warranty insight would be appreciated. But not from you.

If it isn't transferable then let me know and I can help you get it fixed.

U1 Warranty

Post by hoppyjr » Mon Jan 25, 2016 10:46 am

It's supposed to be transferable with the watch.

I had a different U1 a couple years back and it was running out of spec, so I contacted Sinn customer service. They forwarded my inquiry to Watchbuys, who contacted me. Rob asked if I was the original owner, as my name wasn't associated with the particular watch in their database. I told him I was not and asked why that mattered, since the Sinn warranty was transferable. He told me it was only transferable to the second owner, although Sinn said that wasn't true. Rob later back pedaled and said he was asking to see if it may have been dropped or something.

Needless to say, I'm soured on Rob / WB based on how he handled the exchange.

I'm really surprised to hear of any issue with that U1, as it was running great for me. Did Ellen possibly not wear it enough and it ran down?

In any case, contact Watchbuys but don't stand for any of Rob's BS. The watch is covered by Sinn for two years. It should be easily repaired at RGM, but Watchbuys will need to coordinate.

The only time I had a warranty issue with my 757 UTC I called Watchbuys and they instructed me to send it to Sinn. YMMV.
only accurate watches are interesting

I think it is going to be a non issue, most likely had it off for the past few days with snowmaggedon.

That frickin sucks. Just tell WB's you a MOD on WUS and everyone on the Forum said WB are fantastic with CS. Add that you cannot wait to get back and report your positive experience. Don't tell them it's. Had a hard time on Eds none mouse wrist and might have had the tegimented case breached by lotion.

It is worth noting that my Sistem 51 SWATCH has a 90-hour power reserve.

If all my autos had 90hour reserve i'd probably just wear 3 or 4 and ignore the rest.

Not only that, it's keeping within +/- 4 seconds. Wow.

What is interesting about the article is Swatch puts all of that info out in their own material and other reviews. Swatch champions the plastic parts and the soldering - all as facets of the autonomous machine manufacturing, a human hand never touches it.

It's like the Glock of the watch world.

The U1 warranty should cover you. You may want to contact RGM for service.

If one likes the looks and it keeps good time that's all that matters to most.
