I filed a lost package insurance claim online on November 30th. USPS disavowed any responsibility (of course). I considered it a total loss at that point.

Today, Sinn emailed me that the watch just arrived and they'll send me an estimate on the work! A belated holiday present!

Holy crap. It seems like it was lost and then someone dug it up. Incredible.

That's excellent news, Seth. Interested to hear about everything price wise when all is said and done.

Continuing this lesson in patience, it took them only six weeks to determine what needs to be done to the EZM2: new dial and hands to restore the lume (SLN will replace the tritium), and the battery, oil refill, and module checkup. All of which I specified in writing when I shipped it. [This for a mere approx. $375 or so. I'm game for that - yes, I know its criminal to replace the original tritium stuff with SLN, but function must be primary. If not, why replace the battery too}. But then they slip in this phrase: "The repair will takes approx. 75-100 working days after your order release/payment."
Sinn is a real company, not a MKII, you'd think 2 1/2 to 4 months a bit excessive to do what an ill-equipped DIYer did in an afternoon.

All suggestions taken gratefully!

I hope they install the battery last - 4 months off the battery is no bueno.

The finale has finally arrived - the EZM2 is home, and it is like new. They put on a new dial, new handset, new oil, new battery, new caseback, new strap, and appear to have refurbed the case. It is literally indistinguishable from a NEW EZM2!

Didn't return the originals, but I didn't think to ask for them either.

If you look at the pic on P2 of this thread, they seem to be the same. I can't really tell - if they are different it is very subtle...

I agree, they do look the same. The aged ones just appear different because of the patina.
