I got to try a U1 on rubber on once, and the strap was fantastic. I'm almost thinking of flipping the Doxa that doesn't even arrive until Friday for a U1 SDR........

Isn't it a SIN to use a rubber? :shifty: Just a thought.

Never had a SINN rubber before but the one on my Muhle Nautic Timer was pretty nice.

And yet another believer is born. Sinn rubber rocks the house and that deployant is sweet. But Paul's right about the cuts - I've been wanting to adjust mine a little tighter on the JSAR which means another cut and I've held off. Once you do it, ain't no going back.

Sinn U1.... :stir:

I actually am impartial about the rubber. I like the perfect fit to the case and the finishing of the deployant. However, I find the rubber a little stiff, so it tends to make the watch wear like a bangle or something rather than conforming to your wrist. Additionally, I've found the deployant is really sharp. Uncomfortably sharp. If I had another, I'd file it down - that's how sharp. As such, I never found it particularly comfortable, though it's really a great aesthetic combo with the U1. The U1 on rubber is one of the few watches my wife has commented on and said she's liked. Most of the time she's impartial.
A little 'lint'y though. :raised:
Oh yeah, this too.

All that said, if I were to pick up another U1, I'd make sure to eventually own both the bracelet and rubber.

Chris-

The "linty" thing will go away after you've had it awhile.

Everyone loves this strap. I never got to try it as it maxes out, uncut, it's just a little to tight for me.

But, mine was on the strap when I bought it. It was used and no longer had the linty deal.
I had to wait about three weeks trying to source U-series bracelet before I could wear the U1. Drove me knuts!

It's a tough call, but sorry buddy. Between (a) Brian's love -vs- (b) Sinn U1, turns out I'm a natural born Sinner!

Sorry to hear that it didn't if you. That's been one of my concerns about possibly getting one, what size is your wrist?
