Sinn Military Type III
Sinn Military Type III
Just in!
I've always liked the looks of EZM 1 and EZM 3 models, but was afraid the 40mm size would be too small. Since selling my 857 UTC I've missed it, having found the size perfect for NATO's (love that ketchup!) but I've been reluctant to get anther UTC because the dial seems rather busy. The non-UTC 857 was an option, but not new.
I came across this one and thought I'd give it a try. First impressions; the grey "Military" & "Type III" printing is very subdued and not nearly as pronounced in person as it is in photos (think Rolex DSSD rehaut, same idea). Overall, its a nice, modern size case at 43mm but has styling cues from more traditional Sinn models. I like it.

The exact opposite. The destro arrangement is so that the crown doesn't dig into your wrist.marchone wrote:Looks good but doesn't the crown dig into your wrist?
Re: Sinn Military Type III
Great catch, Ed. Love the destro crown
Re: Sinn Military Type III
Thanks fellas.
No, the crown works great. That is one of the things I liked about that Resco Patriot I had, it is super comfy.

Cool. I'm interested in your longer term thoughts.
It does look really nice

Re: Sinn Military Type III
Thanks guys.
It has a really nice EZM feel to it, plus the dial is very symmetrical which is good for semi-OCD types like me. The date is barely noticeable, which is good because my tired eyes can't read the date on most watches, while the seconds hand is actually usable.
It's relatively thin and light, plus the short L-2-L would be great for smaller wrists too. It wears absolutely great on NATO.
I was sold when I saw Peter Atwood's photo on green Zulu. Killer shot.
I see this as an 857 with an EZM 1 (ish) dial. The big crown is a bonus.

I think I really like the date in the 12 position.

It's definitely not an usual Sinn. What movement is this, modded 7750??

Re: Sinn Military Type III
I believe the Type II (chrono) is using the 7750, but I've heard two things about the Type III; A Japanese website indicated 2895-2, but I've never heard of that motor. One of the owners contacted Watchbuys and they advised 2836. I suspect it's the latter.kempoman wrote:It's definitely not an usual Sinn. What movement is this, modded 7750??

Yep. The only watch that digs into my wrist is my EZM1-I wear it on my right wrist.foodle wrote:The exact opposite. The destro arrangement is so that the crown doesn't dig into your wrist.marchone wrote:Looks good but doesn't the crown dig into your wrist?
