German Explorer
German Explorer
I recently obtained a Tuna as my weekend/evening watch, and as much as I loved looking at it, it was too large to be comfortable around the house. Decided to go a different direction and go for something with more of a minimalist Bauhaus vibe. I know a few here have owned the 556. I really like it. It is smaller than watches I typically own, but super comfortable and the large glossy dial give it a nice presence. 200m water resistance and a surprise divers extension give make it a nice all round beater that I can wear from the beach to boardroom.
Quick and dirty iPhone shots.
Not my shot, but shows the gloss dial.

Congrats! I've always found these very attractive.

I'm a big bracelet guy, and I love Sinn bracelets, but I may have to pick one up for this watch. Here are a couple of net photos.....4pfrench wrote:i like it - NATO?
Re: German Explorer
Cool - not usually a Sinn fan, but I like this quite a bit.

I've always liked that one. Super clean. I don't remember them having an exhibition caseback-nice touch. Totally agree on your bracelet stance and also I think it would look finer than forg hair on a nato.

Love that OD green/black/silver/white color scheme-so classic.

Solid watch that punches above it's weight.

Love that watch...
Re: German Explorer
Damn. I think I just found my next purchase.
What is the lug spacing on the 556? I'm guessing 20mm, but want to be certain.

20mm. It is not a large watch.Ryeguy wrote:Damn. I think I just found my next purchase.

Re: German Explorer
I love the 556. I do wish it was 40mm however.

It's gorgeous, especially on canvas.

That's a perfect daily watch. Looks great on the NATO. Highly recommend a Drew canvas.
