my latest acquisition .... Zee German
I had to freaking go to Baton Rouge because for once the FEDEX guy decided he'd get here EARLY. Anyhow, I managed to pick up my latest .... a Sinn 556. It's a mere 38.5 mm and not a diver, but I dig it. I already put it on a thick Italian rubber strap and it is by far the most comfy watch I own. I could only manage some Q&D indoor shots, but check out the movement. Nicely decorated rotor and even a few blue screws. I'm chuffed (that ones for my Brit brothers).

whoah Dave! That one is seriously too classy for a bum like you!
Honestly that is one solid classic piece! Fantastic purchase! Looks perfect on the rubber. Such a simple and elegant watch.
But i do have to admit, this addition from you came from left field.

I'm loving Sinn lately. Might need a U1 in white or a 756. Nice snag!

Re: my latest acquisition .... Zee German
Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words (except the bum part).
Yea, this was a bit out of left field. I'm at a crossroads with my watch collection. All I really have are divers, and I got to thinking that maybe THAT is why I'm getting bored with my stable of watches. So, Having owned a Muhle Glashutte in the past I started looking at Germans. This one just hit me right between the eyes. First, it's a new smaller size that I have begun to appreciate lately. Also, it's under $900 on a strap. Lastly, with the size and simplicity it kind of had that Rolex Explorer feel. It's WR to 200M and IMO looks right at home on rubber.

I think a lot of us are starting to grow up a little bit and start appreciating reasonable sized watches again. I know I am! That's a great watch, and I would have guessed that it cost more.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nice piece David, congrats. Clean dial, that's easy to read as only the German can do it.

German engineering and design in a watch...perfection!
Re: my latest acquisition .... Zee German
Cute little thing.
Just kidding - nice pickup. I've been really appreciating smaller (36-40mm) watches. Even if you like large divers, the comfort of a reasonable sized watch is hard to deny.

That thing ROCKS!! You and I have the same wrist size and can pull off fairly big watches, but smaller ones fit just as well..
That is one of my favorite Sinns..
I had the 656 a while back. That was the one that was sold to me in "MINT" condition... It was beat up pretty good when I got it.

Haven't made up my mind about the rubber, but I'm positive about the watch. Five thumbs. That rocks. Congrats.

Now that`s a no nonsense watch! I love it!
I love the looks of the clean, easy to read dial.
Only thing that bugs me about the less than 40mm watches is that they usually are only wr to say 30-50m. The fact that the sinn is 200m makes me all giddy
What kind of movement is it? ETA?
Im really looking at smaller watches too lately, my next will be a less than 40mm for sure. I`ve got the hots for an Explorer or a TOG, but this one might just derail my plans

a nice black dial...The thick hand set is nice.. Putting a thick
strap on smaller watch really works...

Kenneth, this one has an ETA 2824-2 in it. I went back to the watchbuys site to check and make sure and noticed my watch isn't listed anymore. The do that when they are temporarily out of stock. I might have lucked out and got the last one(s) they had.

Watchbuys is the official (and only) North American AD for Sinn.
