Artego 300m Diver

Image

This new 300m diver from Artego arrived yesterday, my initial impressions are that I am very happy with it. It arrived FedEx overnight from Hong Kong. The presentation box is a heavy black leather hinged box with tan lining, sorry, no shots of the box. It also comes with a warranty card. Overall fit and finish of the watch are right in line with it's pricing. I really like the styling of this watch, it takes many of it's design cues from dive watches of the 70's. The dial is ceramic with a deep black glossy finish, it is one of the deepest black finishes I have seen on a dial, very beautiful. Nice heavy duty, solid bracelet that is non-tapering to the fliplock clasp, (this bracelet appears to be the same as on the Halios watches). The 120 click bezel is classic in design with easily griped machined contours, the click action is a little rough though. Lume is outstanding on this watch, it is extremely bright when fully charged and lasts all night long. Even thought this is a large, heavy diver, it is well balanced on the wrist and is comfortable due to the relatively flat caseback.

Movement:
Miyota 8215 mechanical automatic, 21 jewels
40 hours power reserve, 21,600 beats per hour.

Dimensions
45 mm Diameter / Bezel 44 mm
50 mm lug end to lug end
24 mm lug width
15.5 mm height overall

Crystal
Sapphire, anti-reflective coating (inside only)

Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. If you are looking for a good diver that won't break the bank I would recommend the Artego.

Cool. Lot of competition at the under $400 pricepoint which is good for all of us. I like that you can see the whole case from top view.

The hooded lug or straight lug or endlink built into the case-whatever you want to call it-is great in that you can purchase many differant types of straight end bracelets and it still looks good.

Thanks Dave for the review and pics.

Nice pics Dave...I like the case..

Lug to lug is only 50MM so could fit a smaller wrist

Good price point...

NICE! Great review and (of course) your pics ROCK!

Really like the shrouded bracelet with screws instead of pins, NON tapering and drilled lug holes. For those of us that change straps all the time, gotta like all that stuff.

The case is nice too... Lume is great (all those expensive dive watches with poor lume have NO excuse)

Thanks for the thread! (let me know when you are ready to flip it.. )

There's a lot about this watch that reminds me of the Halios Holotype, especially the bracelet and the logo, but all in all, I think it's a great piece on paper and at that price, I don't anybody could go wrong with it. That bracelet is awesome, regardless of which one came out first. I didn't realize they used a ceramic dial either. Pretty sweet and excellent pics, Dave

Thanks guys,

With the hooded lugs this one would look good with so many straps. I'm thinking of trying a mesh and my Isofrane rubber.

This watch is such a bargain.... $350.00 includes overnight FedEx shipping from Hong Kong. The quality is right in line with other watches like Halios and Benarus.

I love the cushion case on this one, I've been wearing it all day and forget I've got it on. The lume is so bright that it even glows in the daylight. The crystal interior AR coating really eliminates a lot of glare and makes the crystal disappear.

This one pretty much ROCKs! :bananastoner:

Great pictures and certainly a good looking watch, but I will go against the grain, it would be a impulse buy and flip for me, as I don't think the lugs quite do it for me... Nice little watch at a great price for those that dig it though..

That ceramic dail is quite nice. I encourage several off you to go out and buy them. When it's time for flipsville drop me a PM.

I am continuing to really like the Artego Diver. Lately I've tried some different strap & mesh combos. Here are a couple I thought you guys would like to see.
