......big with the "dive community" that hangs out courtside at LA Laker games....

Well, my credit card is safe from that thing...
I'll be seeing it at JomaShop I suspect, real soon.

The black text on black background date wheel makes it look like the 3 o'clock indice fell off.
I mentioned this over on WUS, but it seems to me Doxa is trying copy the Seiko "Street Series" design play, taking a dive watch and making it more "street" oriented by using darker colors, etc.
The difference to me is:
1) The Seiko watches are still functional and legible
2) Seiko chose to pursue this fashion-oriented market using lower end watch models (solar movements, $400 price point).
I don't see any urban youth wanting this Doxa, and I'm not sure urban elites would even consider a Doxa when there are so many other options available at this price point.

Doxa desperately need Rick Marei back. They seem to have seriously lost their way since his departure.
Re: So what's the new thing gonna be?
Seven thousand dollars?!! I wouldn’t buy that ugly thing for $700!

I bought a cheap watch from a crazy man
Floating down canal
It doesn't use numbers or moving hands
It always just says now

"Fugly" is a compliment here.
Maybe Butt Fugly would work better.

I have this Seiko for sale. Less than $7k, I promise.

I was going to post this photo

Re: So what's the new thing gonna be?
A guy on WUS photoshopped up what the folks there were suggesting and actually came up with a decent looking watch. Not my style, but not bad.
Another user made the astute observation that to cater to the fashionista market, the brand must be aspirational. Given no one outside of a niche of the watch enthusiast community knows the Doxa brand, this may be a challenge for them.

I've never heard "doxa" mentioned in a lyric, unless I'm missing something

Doxa should do a run of Sub300T with black PVD cases, on rubber. Similar to the Carbon but way less expensive (SS case). Pretty sure that would sell ton.
And then a Sub300T GMT. And then they could do a LE run in Titanium. And there it is, business plan for the next two-three years
Annnnnnnd, why not a Hodinkee or Grey Nato colab?!?

Follows the color scheme of the OG Golden Tuna which was the first commercial saturation diver?Joeprez wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 10:41 amLooks less hideousRyeguy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 4:59 amA guy on WUS photoshopped up what the folks there were suggesting and actually came up with a decent looking watch.
