Doxa 300T Sharkhunter value estimation

Post by Skippy_1984 » Wed Apr 26, 2017 6:08 am

I few years back I inherited a Doxa 300T sharkhunter watch from my grandad. For insurance purposes I would like to have a rough estimate of how much it is worth as my insurance does not cover anything over £1k unless individually stated.

I would appreciate some assistance with this if possible.

Welcome to DWC, Mark. Nice Doxa Sharky you've got there. There's a couple of guys here that will likely be able to help you with that but you would be better served by first posting an introduction thread in the main forum with some collection pics.

Today, I'd say $2000-$2500 if the case is crisp, serviced and it has all the beads of rice links. Bonus if you have box/papers.

Feel free to PM me if you have questions or want to email pics. I'm a bit of a doxaholic.

OP- the value of your Doxa, and all others, depends on what demero3 will pay for it as he's 98% of the vintage Doxa market.

I think it may be worth closer to $3K or more if it has been serviced and you can attest (as obviously you can) that it's all original and not a "Franken."

Mike probably sold this one to your grandfather.

As it turns out, it is quite lovely and has the box. I think you are high, Page, but you never know. Right day and how much I've had to drink

So on the subject of Doxa Sub valuations. What would the value of a pro no 'T' be worth in good condition with beads of rice? Now the 50th anniversary edition has been produced how will that have affected values?

Thanks for the info. I am tempted to add 1k to that valuation just because you have been collecting too long. Everything seems to be moving on at speed to me. I took my attention elsewhere and suddenly Speedmasters and Seamasters are 3 x what they were a couple of years ago. I feel these Doxa's could come in for some similar increases. Especially the early models?

There is always someone willing to pay top dollar. Myself, I shop around. I picked up a rare no T sharkhunter for $1650 this fall. It takes patience and knowing the rocks to turn over.

Personally, I'd never pay more than $2800, but I also remember buying old DOXA's for $500....those days are gone.

Ha, I love looking under rocks. I have possibly got a no T incoming from under a slippery rock, if it lands I will pop up some pics
