Me too. I never use that shit and my shit never falls apart. Over rated on the Loctite!ezcheese wrote:Loctite pisses me off!
.... and, you made the right call by NOT choosing to try to get it apart while all pissed off. Scratch it... and it is scratched for good. Then you'd REALLY be pissed!

Man, that is a KILLER watch! Glad to hear you used some ingenuity and got 'er done! Sending that bracelet back to Sveden would have cost you some jacksons.
Well done.
Well done.

I appreciated Doxa's offer but wanted to take another shot at it...
Took the watch to another Watchmaker in the city. The guy used some
kind of ultrasonic machine and low and behold the watch bracelet could
be sized....The guy was very cool but seemed shady...
Here are some quick shots before it got dark...
Thanks for all the comments---really appreciate the feedback, etc...
Mike
....I wonder if I will have to give the rubber strap back....

You should immediately take your watch to a watchmaker and have the movement checked!!! I got an email from a co-worker who advised that his sister's husband's friend's cousin had a similar issue recently. It seems that a watch he bought was unable to be sized due to loctite on the screws. He was approached by a "shady" guy who claimed he had some sort of "machine" that would loosen the screws. The guy gave him his watch, and he disappeared into a back room. A short time later he returned with the watch properly sized. About a week later, the watch suddenly stopped and when he took it to have it looked at, it was discovered that the SWISS ETA movement had been replaced by a cheap Chinese automatic movement. It could only have been done while in the custody of this shady person. I have since learned that all over the world, people are letting their watches out of their sight, only to discover later that the movements have been replaced without them knowing it. I suspect they are being sold on the black market. This is completely true and very alarming. Please pass this on to everyone you know who wears a watch.
