some real world photos of the 50th Anniversary SUB 300 Pro
I dropped these on the WUS Doxa forum as well. I received a prototype SUB 300 Professional 50th Anniversary edition to take diving in a couple of weeks and thought I'd post a few photos I've taken since getting the watch. I hope they're useful for those who've been curious about the new pieces.

I know the dial diameter has been discussed before, but I can't recall if it's the same as the original/vintage Doxa 300 or if it's smaller? It looks smaller than I remember from the 300 that I owned but maybe that's just the photos.

That looks great, can't wait for mine. Can you take a shot of the clasp?

Supposedly the dimensions are 1:1 compared to the original.logan2z wrote:I know the dial diameter has been discussed before, but I can't recall if it's the same as the original/vintage Doxa 300 or if it's smaller? Looks amazing. I was really close to pulling the trigger on that one, but I know I'd be disappointed with the size on wrist... Really nicely done

I barely resisted getting in on the pre-order, and I'm regretting it now. Looks amazing.

Someone need to voice a dissenting opinion.
I am not sure if it is just the look of the domed crystal but the dial just plain looks too small on that watch. Maybe it look different in real life but I can't say it does anything for me.

Its totally retro man! You either dig the vintage stuff or you dont, that thing is awesome!cdnwatchguy wrote:Someone need to voice a dissenting opinion.

Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?
Re: some real world photos of the 50th Anniversary SUB 300 P
Yeah do you guys not think there is just too much bloated body for how little dial you get? I guess it's supposed to be like that to be historically correct?

Ain't gonna be no talk of bloated bodies either. The proportions of this watch are perfect. I can't wait to get mine. Is it November yet?!

I guess, I don't know. I think Seiko got it right with SRP with the retro body to dial opening ratio. But I'd have to see it in the metal I guess.

If it's proportionately the same as the original then I think it should be OK. But the photos really do make the dial look smaller relative to the case than I remember from my vintage 300.

Agreed. Wearing my SRP and looking at these photos makes me appreciate the Seiko proportions. I also believe the steel bezel insert exaggerates the small dial (as does the dome's blurring of the dial edges).Panerai7 wrote:I guess, I don't know. Re: some real world photos of the 50th Anniversary SUB 300 P
I dig the SRP NAFTs, a lot. But the 6309, while having nearly the same proportions, wears so much better to me. I think the 300 reissue will look amazing in the metal, just like the vintage Doxa Subs do.Ryeguy wrote:Agreed. Wearing my SRP and looking at these photos makes me appreciate the Seiko proportions.
