Barry...I managed to convince myself not to buy this watch, and I'm regretting it now that I see it (and thinking about what I could/would flip to make it happen )giosdad wrote:The pre-order links are still active, why do you think you missed out?dukerules wrote:I barely resisted getting in on the pre-order, and I'm regretting it now. I've really enjoyed my 1200T Pro for the last few months, especially at the beach and in the pool. Unfortunately, my wife has decided she wants to wear it after we get home from this week's beach trip. So maybe that's my excuse to pick up the 300 no T reissue.
Re: some real world photos of the 50th Anniversary SUB 300 P
I understand your comment now. I have not ordered either. Mostly because I am working on a number of things consuming my funds, right now (inspite of selling a few watches locally.) Also, I am not very good with pre-orders as of late. (Blame BY) Since I want an Searambler I am hoping the Pro is the one that sells out first and if that is announced I plan on pre-ordering (hopefully) a Searambler. The longer that takes the closer I will be to the release as well and the shorter amount of time my funds are tied up waiting. A gamble for sure as that could cost me the opportunity, but then again many might go up for sale on the second hand market. You know because it is "so small" blah, blah, blah.dukerules wrote:Barry...I managed to convince myself not to buy this watch, and I'm regretting it now that I see it (and thinking about what I could/would flip to make it happen )giosdad wrote:The pre-order links are still active, why do you think you missed out?dukerules wrote:I barely resisted getting in on the pre-order, and I'm regretting it now. The domed Crystal is making it look worse than it is.Panerai7 wrote:Yeah do you guys not think there is just too much bloated body for how little dial you get? I guess it's supposed to be like that to be historically correct?
It is true to the original.
But, it's not for everyone. The fact that it is damn near 1:1 is why I'm in on it.
And that is for a 7-3/4" wrist.

I agree the crystal has a certain effect especially in some of the early pictures that were released in the Watchtime story. The dial looks small because it is small(er) than most offerings out there. It is a 1:1 with the original (which I have worn and think is perfect for this watch) and a re-issue of what I beleive their most sought after vintage model. The size and dimensions are not for everybody but staying true to the original is a good move IMO. If they had screwed around with the dimensions all criticism would be warranted. For those that don't like the size, Doxa has created a lot of larger offerings over the past few years.

One certainly is and the other one probably is. So if you lose your mind and sell the Sharky 300, there is only one text to send and that is to me.demer03 wrote:Lol....me thinks those were both mine at one point

I'm such an idiot. And, sorry....not going to re-re-re-re-re-re-re-repeat the stupidity.
Keeping this one. Uber rare.

Barry, didn't you just pick up original 300T Pro?

Yes a 300T Pro and like it and Love the BOR bracelet, but I really want a 300 no "T" in any variation on a BOR.aikiman44 wrote:Barry, didn't you just pick up original 300T Pro?
I will probably order a re-issue 300 Searambler.

Re: some real world photos of the 50th Anniversary SUB 300 P
Thanks Jason. Looks great, I can't wait to get mine. As Mike said, I think the dial appears smaller because of the halo effect of the crystal. I do wonder how that will be in person, but either way I'm glad I ordered. Whenever I see a Searambler, though, I wonder if I should have gone that route rather than the Pro.

I thought I'd heard it was 27mm but maybe I'm mistaken. According to Doc Millar's site, the original 300 had a 28mm dial.andrema wrote:25mm diameter dialSeppia wrote:I would have to agree. The dial is in my opinion a bit too small in respect to the bezel

The dial on the reissue is 25.5mm according to Doxa CS. Perhaps it is a bit smaller?

I agree. Once again I don't get Doxacdnwatchguy wrote:Someone need to voice a dissenting opinion.
I am not sure if it is just the look of the domed crystal but the dial just plain looks too small on that watch. Maybe it look different in real life but I can't say it does anything for me.

Love it. I would've gone in, I think, but I'm dead keen on waiting for another original 300T Pro. Never should have let Mike's go...back to Mike.

Have the prototype pics of the Searambler been released yet? I need more pics to get my fix for November. Oh, I checked. It's not November yet.
