SNIP FROM WUS:

We couldn't hold this back any longer, so the information had to leak at Baselworld:

First Look: The Doxa Sub 50th Anniversary Limited Edition › WatchTime - USA's No.1 Watch Magazine

The case is the EXACT dimension as the original 1967 SUB300, the modern additions are the special cut sapphire crystal identical to the first generation plexi and the Chronometer certified movement . And this is just a prototype minor changes to the crystal might occur, HOWEVER, the case, and dial are finalized.

The bracelet does have a slight taper like the original.

Yes, it will use a COSC ETA 2824 movement.

This will be a limited edition of 300 pieces per dial color. Available only for DOXA returning customers

The release will incorporate three models, the Professional, Sharkhunter, and Searambler.

Watches will start shipping in November.

Pre-Order price is $1990.00 with a $500.00 deposit. Regular price will be $2490.00, if we don't sell out during the pre-order!

I hate pre-orders, but at least the deposit is only $500. I may have to jump in.

I can't ever get passed FT being on the bezel on Doxa's, I've no idea how far a foot is...you'd think I could just ignore considering I'd never actually use it but no. I can't.

I'd do it if you want the watch. Doxa has had their issues, but they've never failed to deliver on a pre-order as far as I know (and within a reasonable period of time).

And I'm in. I swore I'd never do a pre-order again, but I really like this one. I think they did a great job of capturing details of the original. I'm a sucker for vintage re-issues.

Yes, I've bought a few Doxas and a Jenny direct from Doxa before. It's been a while, but I've always liked Doxa. I don't know if you really need to be to order though. There's a pre-order link on their Facebook page, and unless I'm mistaken it doesn't say anything about needing to be an existing customer.

Oh, and one more thing, in case it sways anyone. If you follow their link, it appears Paypal isn't an option, but it is. I called Andy and he sent me a Paypal invoice. The significance being (at least for me) that I could use Paypal Credit and not have to pay anything for 6 months. That's nice with a pre-order. Especially at tax time..

I'm also in on a Sharkhunter. Sent a pm to the admin on WUS, had an invoice less than an hour later. I can't even remember the last time I bought a brand new watch (never mind a preorder), but this really ticks all the boxes for me.

I honestly have no idea. I'm hoping they stay true to the original, but the bracelet and crystal was enough to seal the deal for me.

Did you get the Pro?

They seem to be sticking to the original in as many respects as possible, so I assume they will with the hands. I did get the pro, mainly to be completely different from my Omega, but I'm sure I'll love all three.
