U.S. Divers Doxa Watch loosing time after battery change

Post by GWFAMI » Sun Jan 18, 2015 9:09 pm

I had a new battery put into my vintage (1979) Doxa watch a while back, and about 2 weeks later it began loosing time. Right now it's losing about 8 minutes a day.

I thought that perhaps the battery might be draining too fast, but not sure if that is the problem. Also noticed that on occasion the second hand "sticks" or jumps back a second then forward a second.

Any ideas as to what may be causing this?

Not sure, but a new Quartz movement can't be too expensive to replace.

Jack can put a new movement in it for fairly small money.

Jack's the only guy I've been sending my pieces to as of late. Not to take away from the other folks but Jack is my first thought here as well

I've had this with several old Heuer quartz Divers.. it's usually fluff/debris in the drive train. Get it all cleaned, and it should be fine.

I would have it serviced by internationalwatchworks.com...Jack is the best with these old watches.
