They haven't moved away from ETA. According to the Doxa guy on WUS they have enough stock of ETA's to last for at least 5 more years.The 1500's were intentionally made with the SOPROD movement. Not because ETA was unavailable. The SOPROD A10 movement is supposed to be a top grade and is actually more expensive than the ETA 2892.
That being said, it looks great and if I didn't have a 750T SR I would probably buy one of these...
