Picked up my first Doxa... 750T Pro

Post by rpmooreii » Thu Jul 03, 2014 2:52 pm

I have been seeking a nice contemporary Doxa Sub to add to my modest collection for several months and lucked out last weekend. I had been focusing on the 600T or 1200T because 27 years of wearing a Rolex Sub on a daily basis led me to believe that a 45mm watch was too gen X for this middle aged waterman. I decided to take a chance on the 750pro and am happy to report that, to my eye at least, it looks great on my 7 3/8' wrist (see below). One of my pet peeves is that so many wrist shots are taken so close as to eliminate any real perspective on the wrist so I am including a "distance" shot as well.

Will try on some of my other straps (doxa strap compliments of Andrew even though it is a 20mm instead of 21) and my 22mm Isofrane and am considering a canvas option as well. For today the BOR is awesome!

Still working on a deal for a vintage US Divers 300T from the orig owners family; only time will tell if I will be able to add that one to the stable.

Now on an Isofrane

Also tried it on a Diaboliq waterproof canvas but it was a bit too stiff. Would love to find a well used (and soft) Drew!

Now on the Doxa rubber strap...

I had heard it was hard to mount this strap but it went right on in about 2 minutes. It is not as comfortable as the Isofrane but looks nice w/ the flush fit to the case.

Strap looks great. Once it breaks in a bit it will get more and more comfortable.

very nice, roger. some day i need to jump on the doxa train.

just noticed your USNA 83 avatar. i've done some 40th reunion yearbooks for the classes of 66 and 70. it always amazes me to read all of the bios and see how successful they *all* seem to be. even the guys who ended up as granola eating hippies end up being really successful at being granola eating hippies. and all of the guys i worked with were really great guys. looking forward to collaborating with other classes at some point.

thanks for all the positive comments.

GWells: yes, my Annapolis classmates are among the most accomplished and down to earth guys I know. The reunions are always great fun and the action stories often read like novels!
