Considering a Sharkhunter...
So, I'm thinking the next purchase I'd like to make will be my first Doxa. I know everyone says you should get the Professional, but I can't see myself wearing orange that frequently.
So, knowing the best fit for me is a 42mm version, I've narrowed it down to the 600T, 1000T or 1200T Sharkhunter. It seems the 1000T and 1200T both have an orange minute hand, which really appeals to me. Aside from water resistance, are there any advantages of one over the other?

I'll be in NYC this weekend. Maybe I should just spend the budget at the Crocs store instead.patstarrx wrote:Not personally. I'm just a doxa hater.gonzomantis wrote:Bad experience?patstarrx wrote:My advice, don't buy a doxa.
Re: Considering a Sharkhunter...
First Doxa was a 750T Sharkhunter. I actuallly prefer the sharkhunter versions because of the black dial. Personally, if I was to buy another one, it'd be a vintage 300t sharkhunter with the original BOR bracelet
Re: Considering a Sharkhunter...
I had a 1200T Sharkhunter, and really liked it. Looks good (don't listen to Pat) and is very comfortable. Good size for my 6.5" wrist. While the Professional may be "the" Doxa because of color, I'm not into orange faced watches, so it wasn't for me.

Re: Considering a Sharkhunter...
The main differences between the 1000 and the 1200 are that the 1000 has what I think is a "too busy" set of ticks in between the minute marks, and the 1200 has the HEV. I'd call the 1200 close to a perfect Doxa.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

I have owned 300 600 750 1000 and 1200 case size Doxa watches.
I like the 1200 best because the case size seems right for me and the 1200 has a slightly more convex case back that hugs the wrist better. And I am with you, the Sharkhunter looks way better with the orange minute hand.

300T first....1000 if modern. I like the "ticks" on the dial and it sits better IMHO on the wrist than the 1200.

Late to the party:
I own a number of different Doxa's, and in the smaller 42mm version the 600 series is the most comfortable to me. The 1000 series is a complete dud in wearability, the caseback is very high, and a smaller diameter...so it sits like a knob on your wrist. The 1000 was only in production for a couple years, for good reasons....it wasn't popular in the market.
The 1200 series would closely follow the 600, in comfort. The 1200 has the HRV valve, which the WIS community has debated for years on all brands...tho I have never had any issues with failure or service problems.
All 3 of the original sub series have now been discontinued, the 600 being the hardest to find. Doxa's smallest offering today, would be the 1500 series...which is considerably larger. If you have a "meaty" type wrist, comfort should be fine with all models...if you have a "boney" type wrist, my above thoughts will apply.
Here are the latest Doxa specs available for review: For a full comprehensive review, this should cover all/any questions you ever wanted to know about Doxa models.
