Any other classic or iconic orange faced watches?

Post by MagnumsGMTMaster » Fri Jul 05, 2013 8:14 am

I asked this over in the official forum with no response so far ...

What other iconic orange faced watches are there besides the Doxa sub? Only the Seiko Orange Monster comes to mind ...

Doxa is the first that comes to mind, but I guess you knew that. There is a nice Seiko SKX, but you don't seem them around too often.

Not iconic, but Seiko has these two as well.

I always liked the orange Seiko with gold accents. What model is that? Same case as 007?

Not sure about the "classic or iconic" but there is the Seiko Sumo orange, Orient Mako orange, Orient Star 300M Saturation diver, Precista PRS3 orange and a few others.

This borrowed photo from the Doxa 300T website (http://www.doxa300t.com/review.htm) illustrates my point. The guy who literally wrote the book on Doxa seems to see a valid comparison between this Seiko OM and the Doxa sub. I guess I was just thinking there was surely a higher end comparable, but maybe not.

My father in law wears a coral SuperOcean. It is gorgeous in person. Probably not an iconic Breitling color though.

Great call on the SuperOcean!

Not classic or iconic but a piece that i just cant let go of, O&W Ocean Master with a Unitas 6497 hand-wind movement  Just a fun watch to wear and with 22mm lugs it looks good on any type of strap i've put on it...

Orient 300M saturation divers (orange) is one good comparison. I miss that watch.

Maybe not classic or iconic, but it's orange.

I'd go with this. I can spot these from a mile away in public. There aren't many PO lookalikes out there and the orange bezel really stands out. As far as well known orange dials, only the Doxa and monster come to mind.

We'd have to include the Zenith Elite Rainbow, with the 670 movement.

Yeah, I think in time it will eventually become a classic. I'm not sure if the orange will ever become the most sought version, but I love mine.
