T'was me indeed. The plan is to do a pink cerakote coating and get the dial changed to a light plum color. It'll be bad azz!!!
Nah, I actually picked it up on a whim. The real plan is to get it bead blasted eventually. I was missing having a Doxa and wanted to check this one out. Wasn't sure about the cerakote coating though. I like it for now but REALLY miss the white numerals on the bezel. Not sure how hard it'll be to remove the coating tough? Anyone have any idea here...or will I be shunned for being THE loser who picked this up :crybaby: ...

You know you'd never be shunned, I just hope you didn't pay anywhere near his asking price.

Not near...but close  ...hey, but I have an excuse. I was up for 28 hrs and was outta my mind!! I've made a few watch mistakes this way. But I don't regret getting it at all. I think it'll look great beadblasted!

He made a hell of a profit on that watch. Good luck with the project.

You can probably use a rock hammer to chip the Cerakote off.

I'd send it back to Jay to remove the cerakote he put on for Oscar back then as tell him to Bead Blast it maybe? I personally prefer brushed SS.

I'm not too worried. It's not one that i'm gonna sell cause i really like it anyways. I'll contact multiple places and see what they say. If it's gonna be THAT expensive i'll just keep it the way it is.

That's what i was thinking. Jay at mcww offers removal of the cerakote for an additional $18, plus the beadblasting which is pretty cheap. But he only beadblasts, so i contacted iww to see what a case refinishing will be. If pvd was cheaper i'd ultimately go that direction. I love pvd watches and eventually want to pvd my breitling seawolf.
