Just back from my jeweler....

Post by Dante221 » Thu Jan 19, 2012 3:26 pm

Hi All :banghead:
Just returned from my jeweler who sized my new 800ti bracelet.
Man I really like the light weight on this beauty! However this is the second
Doxa (along with my 1500 Pro ) that he cannot loosen the lug screws so I can
switch straps. I just ordered a Bergeon third hand but not sure what to try next.
Thanks!
Dante
PS Still looking for a Minty Sub 750T Caribbean (????)

Yeah, the 800 on a NATO is oh so comfy. Glad you like it!

I thought the trick to loosen those screws was to apply heat (hairdryer),i'm sure i read that somewhere

Same exact thing happened to me when I bought my Milshark...

Eventually the jeweler used the hairdryer and some of his
watchmaker expertise and was able to size it...

Doxa must use a shitload of loctite on the lug screws. I had a 5000T Pro (miss that watch) and I never did take the bracelet off (read that: I tried like hell, used 3 hands, various screwdrivers and lots of profanity - sob never budged.) You could try hot water or like Andy said, maybe a hairdryer. Hey welcome to DWC! Post up some pics.

I've been trying to post pix but my Nikon D 40's smallest pix size is still too
large for the forums. I'm gonna have to get a small point & shoot
that will take smaller size photos

Resize those pix. You can do it on Picassa or Photoshop.

Had the same issue and had to apply heat then have my daughter hold the watch while I used the screwdrivers and also a lot of profanity :) my daughter was wearing earmuffs :)
Also I would use tape on the lugs to protect them in case of slippage.
Merde Alors! Et Vive Les Francais! :)
