Rolex 1630 Automatic NOT Oysterquartz

Post by smellody » Thu Nov 16, 2023 6:56 pm

Today's pick-up. Rolex 1630. Before the Oysterquartz, Rolex had automatic versions of the Datejust and Day and Date in cases with integrated bracelets.

This 1630 is a one owner watch and came with inner box, papers, and booklets.

Dial is actually silver, but aged tona champagne color.

My friend Ignacio noted that it has a later Oysterquartz bracelet as the original 1630's bracelet would have had a center gold link. Bracelet number confirms this. Doesn't bother me.

I’m glad you finally got something to replace that old worn out Submariner. I’ll drive down on Saturday to pick up the old Sub and dispose of it for you. No charge, but I’ll let you buy me a beer.

See you Saturday!

I really feel bad for you, Chris……all those old watches. You seem like a good person, so I’m gonna buy you a brand new watch and I’ll take care of getting rid of all those all the old yucky ones. I do these things because I care.
