I haven't seen a Pelagos 39 IRL yet, but I love the specs and the photos. That'd be my vote based on the ones you mentioned.
Why on earth did they make the lug width 21mm? Not a very strap/bracelet friendly size.

20mm lugs, matte dial, then the P39 would be close to perfect.

It makes the lugs thinner and the slightly wider bracelet feels more proportional too. I have a few 21mm straps now and they are easier to find these days.

Time to move on from that old thinking lol. A ton of the watches including many IWC models, Rolex OP41 and other 40-41mm models, Explorer 2, new Submariners and many others are 21mm. If you’re in a strap/nato business and not offering 21mm you’re missing a lot of potential customers.

39mm Pelagos-looking watch is not real Pelagos anyway. It’s a Speedy Reduced for malnourished ;)

You should do marketing pics for Tudor. I don't like GILT at all and I think that looks great!

I agree.

If they did that watch, that size, without gold I would own it.

Thanks, guys

The gold in person is not as in your face as I thought....I finally saw one in person and was pleasantly surprised.
It's more reddish / bronzey / earthy than bright yellow gold to my eyes.

of course I have to wear (strong) bi-focals so what do I know
I owned one for a minute. The 58 is a wonderful watch, I just can’t do any gold. Maybe one day if I move to Florida and start going to dinner with Shorty at 4:30 pm.

If you prefer the bracelet, go with the BB Pro. I really liked my 58, but prefer the extra thickness of the Pro. Looks sportier, the 58 felt a tad too dressy for me.

However if you want to wear it on a nato, go with the 58.

I really can't do NATO's, all that spare bit up the side drives me nuts. I don't mind the single pass type at a push. I don't like the gap between lugs and seeing the case so I mainly stick to bracelets or curved end straps to fill the gap.

For me, the BB Pro only works in the bracelet. Maybe this would also work (it does look good):

This watch choosing is a fickle game  I'm now really liking the black with gilt hands etc version. I am well known for not being able to make decisions. My reasoning at the moment is that if I kept my Hamilton Pan Europ I've got the blue dial blue bezel covered. I've not got anything with gold/gilt on at all.

It's down to one of these two. Any pro's or con's to either?

I haven't had either but I could see myself getting bored with the blue after awhile. I think the gilt and pop of red on the other one would be enough personality to keep me interested in it for longer.

I had both, the black for only a minute because I don’t like gold. The blue was spectacular, but in the end most of them go.

I can’t help but think they will start putting the T-fit clasp on these soon.

A black dial without gold would get my money.

But, wouldn’t that be a Sub with a snowflake hand and no crown guards?

I have also had both.. Currently owning the Blue…If I could only own one watch, I’d take the black dial. Just find it wears better with everything… hard to beat the value proposition that Tudor presents.

BB58 is currently my favorite everyday watch. Just so easy to wear and flies under the radar but still has a lot of vintage Sub in it. Met a coworker with a blue last week. I prefer the black but the blue is very cool.
