New Tudor Sub?
New Tudor Sub?
This was on Tudor’s Instagram today. Is this a hint that a new Sub is coming, or something else?

Do it right and Tudor will continue to print money
Re: New Tudor Sub?
Much more likely Tudor will do a vintage Sub than R. I’d live s matte dial/bezel Sub.
Re: New Tudor Sub?
Matte dial, no surrounds style sub based on 58?

Re: New Tudor Sub?
They need to release something in the 16610 mid case.

I’d like a Batman pelagos but that’s just me
Re: New Tudor Sub?
They posted this shot in their 2019 video. It’s a 90’s prototype they said was the inspiration for the original black bay. I wonder if we’ll see a 58 with red bezel and triangle markers.
Re: New Tudor Sub?
I was considering an older Sub, but if that ^ happens (preferably sans cyclops) I’ll buy it. Even if on the smaller 58 case.
Re: New Tudor Sub?
With the new tiny in-house BB58 movement, they could do a lot of things. Wouldn't be surprised if they utilized the case as well, but went a different direction with the bezel/dial. I would be surprised to see them go to a sub-style case with crown guards, but maybe they see the BB theme as played out......
Re: New Tudor Sub?
I have the feeling that whatever this is, is going to be a) very cool and b) something I need to own. We'll see if my BB58 quest gets superseded by the latest and greatest.
Re: New Tudor Sub?
I have a thing for applied indices and surrounds on dress divers. This is actually one of the things I like about the Black Bay series.
I’m fine with printed dials on more duty oriented watches, but these Tudor’s don’t fall into that category for me.

Agree with this, I'm fine with printed dials for Sub $1,000 watches, but I like applied índices for anything else (the Speedmaster in an exception).Ryeguy wrote:I have a thing for applied indices and surrounds on dress divers. This is actually one of the things I like about the Black Bay series.

However take the photo of the red bezel Tudor posted above and put in a blue bezel... Damn that would be hard to resist even with a printed dial.

Exactly. Mercedes or snowflake, I’m in.
And I don’t know why people are against indices with no surrounds... that’s a true shoutout to classic dials.
The BB58 is my goal- but if they release a real, classic sized Tudor Sub then I will be changing course.

Re: New Tudor Sub?
The classic case/bezel just kills any version of the BB. That era of Sub is just perfect for me (gloss/matte/whatever dial).

Re: New Tudor Sub?
This in the 58 sized case (please add lug holes) with a no-date dial would be something I'd buy to go with my BB58. I don't think they would actually use Mercedes hands on a modern Tudor, but the lollipop hands would work.
Re: New Tudor Sub?
Interesting. I doubt Tudor will go back to Rolex style cases, but maybe a new dial/hands with the BB or BB58 case. I also doubt they'll add a cyclops - none of their modern dated watches for sale in the US have one.
All of that said, I believe they still market a Date-Day in Asia with a 36mm Rolex style case and a cyclops over the date, so .

Agreed, lets hope they do but without the faux rivet bracelet.JP Chestnut wrote: ↑Mon Jan 21, 2019 9:00 pmThe classic case/bezel just kills any version of the BB. That era of Sub is just perfect for me (gloss/matte/whatever dial).
