Submariner 5508
My newest. Submariner 5508. Down to six watches and couldn't be happier! Shout out to Drster for making my dreams come true...again.
Love how the radium gave the dial just the right patina"
Couldn't be happier!

Very nice. Just don't wear it too often.

Really cool. Have you tested the radiation level?
Re: Submariner 5508
No, but my arm is really HOT and all the hair fell off.

I passed on so many of these back in the day. Even then I knew they were sexy watches, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend 9-10k on one.
Hindsight...

I know..... funny thing how much has changed. I bought my first 1680 in 1992 for $1,400. In 2001, I bought a gilt 5513 for like $1,100 On EBay. My jeweler said to find a fresher one. ....
This one checks all the boxes for me!
I don't see a day where these will trade under $10k again... but who knows. Gilt sport models.... the bubblebacks of the future....

You’ve been in the watch game for a long time. I wasn’t into vintage when I started out... unfortunately.
Are you downsizing? What did you have to give up to get this?

I thought about buying a blue Tudor snowflake 7 or 8 years ago but had a bad experience with lume cracking on a cheap Tudor day date jumbo that made me skittish and now I am kicking myself.smellody wrote:I know..... funny thing how much has changed.
