711Z GMT Master
Limited Edition

Minimum 50% deposit required on purchase.

The 711Z respectfully honors the watch that etched Rolex’s place in global travel history; the ref 6542 GMT-Master. Used by commercial pilots and world travelers alike, the multiple time-zone capability of this iconic timepiece proved invaluable on transatlantic flights during the golden age of flight in the mid 1950’s.

The 711Z represents a respectful fusion of the current model 116710 GMT-Master II with the iconic design of the original “Bakelite” 6542.

The gilt dial is fabricated using old-world techniques which result in true negative-relief gilt that is a hallmark of the early Rolex sport models. While the brittle bakelite bezel of the original 6542 is an iconic feature, our modern interpretation results in a polished insert, sculpted from clear, scratch-resistant sapphire - exposing hand-applied luminescent numerals and indicators which dovetails with the re-profiled coin-edge bezel. A lower profile Rolex crown/tube replaces the beefy 704 of the 116710 and beautifully complements the thinner, lug-holed case. The custom “small arrow” GMT hand brings back a quintessential feature of the earliest Rolex GMT models.

Love it.

I wonder if the dial used is the original GMT donor watch dial that has been stripped and repainted?

I'm guessing it isn't from the donor as the modern GMT Master has applied indices and this uses painted indices, but then again they could've also just welded in the applied indices holes before plating.

I'm guessing the handset is aftermarket too as you'd want the lume color to match and the GMT hand is obviously aftermarket.

Wow. These guys are killing it IMO, and this to me is the best thing they've done.

I agree with you guys. I love it, even though it is pretty much a fantasy model or a replica. How ever you want to look at it.

Rolex could sell this watch no more expensively than their current models. They just choose not to. Lame.
