Yachtmaster or Submariner
Hi guys,
I'm after a bit of advice please, mainly because I can't decide between the Yachtmaster or the Submariner.
Both are quite different in their design, with both the bracelet and the face - and I really can't decide which one I prefer. Even though I'm going to be getting it second-hand from some random jewelry store rather than going direct, I still can't afford the luxury of buying both, so I need to choose which one I want.
More than likely, I will only wear the watch on special occasions (weddings, parties etc.) so I want something which is a bit more luxurious, and that's where the Yachtmaster stands out to me a bit more, but it obviously costs more, and something about the black face on the Submariner makes it seem sleeker and makes me think it would look better with a suit.
So, has anyone bought one of the watches themselves or even has both so knows what looks best with a smarter outfit or just simply which one they prefer?
Thanks in advance!

I'm a huge fan of the silver dial YM. Very classy watch.
Re: Yachtmaster or Submariner
If only wearing sparingly I would go YM. Different and I love the blue dial. If it's a daily- I'd go sub.

39mm rhodium OP is better option. It's casual, but will dress up nicely.
If I went YM, I'd still do rhodium dial. I'll buy one eventually.

I've had a Yachtmaster and a few different subs - both are great in their own way and really two different animals. Both can be dressed up or down with bracelets or straps. I agree that the Sub would be better for daily and the YM for other times, if for nothing else the PCLs on the YM get marked up with daily wear....but you can wear a strap with it if you prefer. On the other hand the Sub is ubiquitous and the YM not seen as often

I have both and echo what others have said. If it were gonna be daily wear, sub. For special occasions, ym.
