Tudor question

Post by andrema » Fri Feb 03, 2017 6:39 am

With the recent change of warranty transfer position that Rolex took, I was wondering if that also applies to Tudor. Are the Tudor warranties now non-transferrable from the original owner? I did some preliminary looking around, but didn't find anything conclusive.

I actually just called and talked to Rolex CS (212-758-7700). This is what they said:

If gifted from person to person - warranty transfers
If sold from person to person - warranty does not transfer

How do they know the difference unless you tell them?

Called Rolex Dallas a few months ago and they said bs. They'll service any watch with a genuine stamped warranty card

That's the sort of consistency that customers like to see from a brand.

Even so, I think you should be fine assuming your watch has a USA AD stamp. I'd expect nothing with a ROW card though.

My Explorer II is currently on the Dallas service center, I bought it from Pat and it has a stamped warranty card. The RSC confirmed that the warranty would transfer to me.

I did write in an email that it was a gift, but they never asked it was a gift or a sale.

I would sometimes wind it and the seconds hand would not start moving unless I tapped the case with my hand. Other times it was fine, but since it's under warranty I decided to send it. The technician was able to replicate the issue and it will be fixed. They haven't told me what it is.
