Air King

Post by CGSshorty » Sun Nov 20, 2016 7:13 pm

The new Air King is kind of odd looking. Worse, it is pretty boring on the bracelet. I stumbled across these photos on IG, and I love the way the AK looks on this custom strap. I think it's a natural combination. The strap appears beautifully made, too.

I tried it on at the AD and it just doesn't work for me. The dial mostly

I'm not normally a fan of contrast stitching, especially colored, but this works better than most.

Still not my top choice for Rolex though... :)

It's definitely not my top choice, but switching it to the strap at least makes it interesting.

If they got rid of all the numerals outside 3,6, 9 it would look better, but then it's pretty similar to the newer EXP.

Interesting combo-- I still prefer bracelets on modern Rolex

Yes. Remove the numbers outside of 3 6 9 and put Citizen on the dial.

I hate this one. The only upside is that Rolex eventually had multiple dials for the old version.

I could do without the polished numerals, but I quite like the green on this one in the metal.
