Thinking of trading my subC for an SD4K - thoughts?
sup dudes
So I bought Marks SubC date a while back and it has rarely left my wrist (other than for the rough stuff) - I absolutely love the watch... But, since I'm an idiot and I've been home long enough to surf the net while drinking, I've decided I have to have the SD.
Looking for thoughts from previous owners of each - or preferably both - letting me know if it's a good call or to confirm I need to lay off the crack pipe.
(Please don't tell me to get the watch that "sings to me" - I've never had that happen yet ; )
Thanks!

I've thought the same a few times

Interested in the responses as well, since I've been mulling over doing the exact same thing the past few weeks.

SK4k is an awesome watch on my wrist, and I like it way more than that Sub. The lug profile, lack of cyclops, extra thickness, and matte dial are ALL improvements to me.

Re: Thinking of trading my subC for an SD4K - thoughts?
I checked one out at an AD last fall and loved it. The size, dimensions, killer on bracelet.
My one-watch brother has a sub c no date, and while I like it I would take the SD4k any day over it.
I've thought about it myself, but I can't give up my 16800. If I get drunk enough or if someone offers me cash+their wife, it may happen one day.

Do it man. You can always switch back if you don't like it. I'm thinking of doing the same thing

Salut l'ami
I owned both (shocker ) and as much as I want to love the sub as it wears flatter/more comfortable, the squared fat lugs just bother me.
ND is cool but if you need a date then you also have to deal with the cyclop on the sub which I don't like.
Also the subC is shinier due to both glossy dial and bezel. So if you prefer more matte materials overall the SDc will be better with a matte dial. Plus a date and no cyclop.
The case of the SDc is also truer to the original without the square lugs. More fluid case. I prefer it.
It is however thicker and sits different on the wrist where it may leave a gap between the edge of IIRC wrist and underside of the watch towards the lugs depending on your wrist size/shape. It doesn't sit as flat so may wobble a bit unless you wear it tight.
In the end I prefer the SDc and want another one

Haven't owned either. Tried both. 114060 alone is great. When compared SD4K is commanding.
only accurate watches are interesting

Do it.
Then have ABC mod the bezel to matte ...

You're thinking about it, so you're going to do it.

I've tried both and prefer the SD, yes it's thicker than the sub but wears great even in my sub 7" wrist. Thin lugs, matte dial, date without cyclops... Its a winner for sure.

I own the 114060 and previously owned the 116610. Having tried the SDc that's the one I'd get if I could afford it. It's just plain cool.
I agree with the ".....sings to you" statement being goofy. I say "get the one that stirs your sack" which is more appropriate. Unfortunately, around here that one might be attached to Terry's wrist.

Matt speaks the truth. I really like this one and side by side with the Sub C this one wins out in my opinion. The pictures tell the tale.matt.wu wrote:SK4k is an awesome watch on my wrist, and I like it way more than that Sub. It can withstand rough life at sea
Supremely waterproof
And fits well with the official DWC bracelet
And it dresses up
And goes well with craft beer
cheers,

SDC>SubC every single time.

See, every time i think this, I think the DSSD instead of the SD4k.
I don't think you will find the price that dramatically different.

When I had the Sub-C, I thought the same thing, often.
