I chose the SubC over the SD4K after having both at the same time. The SubC wore more comfortable. The deciding factor was 1 night sleeping with the SD4K on, and my watch hand tucked under while sleeping, I woke up sore there (my wrist!). The part of the SD4K that's taller is the caseback, which caused the discomfort.

^^^ fantastic picture! Thanks for the heads up ... I think I still want to give it a shot. I think I'll be able to flip it pretty quickly if I want to go back
Now - anyone looking for a subc date? Lol

Paul, I see you more as a SD than sub guy. Plus if you're asking the question we already know the answer

Paul, I have tried (rented) both and I say the SDC is the best, I have a feeling you will love it and won't regret it!

My SDc is my daily. My wrist is a meager 6.5" and it still looks natural. Also it fits under cuffs fine, i don't wear my cuffs that tight. But then i also picked up a PP 3800 which is small, and i still might start rockin that.

Re: Thinking of trading my subC for an SD4K - thoughts?
Sorry for bumping an old-ish thread. I figured I'd weigh in, too, as I also went from Sub-C to Sub-C ND, back to Sub-C and now, finally, to SD4k. While I definitely still love those ceramic Subs, really there's no comparison, imo. To me, the SD feels much more special. It's like a Sub that was given to AP for final finishing. It feels and looks a lot more expensive, somehow; which is good, considering how much more it does actually cost, in terms of MSRP. I really love the more detailed bezel. And it seemingly clicks a little tighter, more heavily. The date window is cut beautifully, and the lack of cyclops is a bigger deal than I would've imagined. The overall dial feels tighter and more cohesive to me, including the text size, shape and font used. Really just comes down to preference, as the Subs are very fine watches, too. Their bezels look too bare for me now, though, haha. Overall, the SD just feels much higher-end, to me. It does sound silly, I know, but as I've already mentioned, my SD reminds me a lot of my 15300 RO. Can't exactly say why, but it does. Feels that special. Anyway, just my two cents.

Really mulling over the idea of flipping the sub and mm300 for an 116600. It's essentially both of those watches in one.

Trying on Brice's SDC I have to say it's more than just the depth rating vs SubC. Awesome all around

I have absolutely zero regrets about trading up from a 114060. I'd like another sub at some point for natos, but the SDc is perfection IMHO. I didn't think the matte dial was that big of a deal prior to owning, but it really is.
There was definitely an adjustment period for me and it wears quite differently on the wrist, but after a little over a month I prefer everything about it.

It looks great on you Todd. Can I ask what your wrist size is?

Thanks, Matt. My wrist is about 6.5".smalls wrote:It looks great on you Todd. Can I ask what your wrist size is?
Here's a shot of the old sub for comparison. Strongly prefer the SDc lugs, which I also didn't think was that big of a deal before I had it.

I agree with you. Having owned both, I give the SDc the nod vs. the subC.
The more traditional case shape does it for me as does the matte dial and having the date complication w/o the darn bubble on top
I only wished it was thinner it or more exactly had a flat caseback like a GMT or subc. But overall it's better for me. The lugs are a big deal IMHO
