Not entirely true. My Sinn 103 became magnetized and was running 15 sec per day slow. $12.00 fix, thankfully.
A watch that runs slow is also magnetized? Thought it was only when a watch is running fast

At least here, reverser wheels and rotor arbor are replaced as part of the standard service and included in the cost. Even if they were to be charged separately, they aren't expensive components at all.

Crown and tube are normally replaced during every service too, and they aren't particularly costly either.

That seems like an unreasonably high service cost for a 3135 without any out-of-the-ordinary replacement parts.

Totally agree

Every Rolex/Tudor I've had done has included a new crown and tube. I've been charged 20-$30 extra for other parts like a third wheel and such.

Get another estimate. If it's in line with what others have said tell your local guy and don't go back.

Rolex has fixed service prices based on model then add in the parts...

maybe take it to another Rolex AD and see what they quote you..

I think the crown & tube is more a preventative thing. I've had that on the last three I sent to RSC (except for the 114060 for regulation). Seems a smart idea and relatively low cost for such an important and frequently used item.

Ouch. Mine is a 2008, and (knock on wood) is running like an absolute champ. Unless something changes, it's not going in for at least a few years. And when that happens, I'll probably send it to an independent.

Yeah none too happy with the estimate. Appreciate all the points and suggestions here. I think I'm going to have them return it to me and try another option like sending it directly to the Rolex service center. Thanks all - I'll update when I hear back from Rolex or sooner.

Here's what I was just told for costs:

Overhaul: 825
Crown: 116
Tube: 116
Mainspring:40
Rotor arbor: 24
Springbars: 2 each.

I'm having them send it to me. They use a Rolex certified repair guy - not one of the 2 service centers.

Hmm..Jack told me otherwise when I sent a watch to him a while back that was running slow. Also, tried to demag it and that didn't work

I've only read fast a half minute or more. Many instances over the years. It's never happened to me though.

Wow. Insane.

116 for crown
116 for tube?

Those prices are completely out to lunch.

But if they really are selling Rolex spring bars for two bucks each, I'll take a case! Otherwise, that cost is suspiciously low; off-brand ones, no thanks.

AD's have a % basis they can mark up over their RSC cost for servicing. Rolex certified parts watchmakers can mark up to 30% (if I remember correctly) on all parts used, and charge whatever the hell they feel like for the service work.

That is pretty good. I had IWW do my E2 with a relume and I think it was around that price.

Very helpful all. You guys are awesome! bbk really appreciate the receipt - thanks for doing that.

So should I send directly to Rolex service center? I'm located in Southern Ohio so if anyone knows a good contact in this area, I'd appreciate it.

That's crazy high but not that rare among shops that have their own certified Rolex service. They had very strict rules to comply with in terms of training and machines which are very expensive. So they charge a lot. Our local AD have their own certified Rolex guy and machines, I met the guy at an event they held and he quoted me about a grand for my SD.
No way.

I have to get my TUDOR blue sub serviced and I'll go with ABC if I get the dome crystal at the same time or Dominic for a straight service based on DWC recommendations.

But by the way, 15 seconds is not the end of the world. If winding is good and PR too, you can wait maybe.

RSC, Rik Dietel or ABC are all better choices.
