Wonder if they addressed a rusting crown tube on that model, or decided to wait for the in-house version to address that?

I think once the in-house comes out, I might grab an Eta Blue BB for like 1500-1700 on a strap and have it brushed.

You could have just bought Wu's for $2k and sold the bracelet.

Good god, I just plunked down a deposit on a new one, I hope they don't tank that badly.

Given that they are about to release a black ETA version I cannot see them turning around with an in house model any time soon. In house movement is thicker and required a new caseback on the already thicker Pelagos.

Yeah, I would not be a happy buyer if I picked this up and at Basel they announce it with a new movement.

^ I agree. We'll probably see a new Tudor "Sub" before an in-house version IMO.

I could handle the thicker Pelagos because of the titanium construction and overall design, but a thicker Black Bay would seem out of character.

The move towards bigger watches has slowed since Omega did it, and they have two sizes plus the thinner SMP. Seems like a nice strategy to develop the Pelagos as their big serious tool diver and continue to differentiate it with the more fashion oriented BB line.

Although Omega kept the case size of the Seamaster they also made it shiny and anti-tool watch.

Hmm...the one it's modeled after was shiney...pcl's...and a tool watch.

Rolex has been doing the same with some of their models, particularly the Daytona (which has been that way for awhile) and the GMTc. They also saw fit to add polished center links to the Datejust line, and polish the tops of the lugs. I'm not really a fan. If I wanted a Breitling, I would have purchased a Breitling.

I appreciate the stuff Omega has done with its latest round of co-axial movements, it's just too bad they haven't done it with a thinner movement that would fit in a smaller case.

Anyone speak French? Brice?

There's a French leak suggesting it has the in-house movement. Which would be amazing, but I'm skeptical given that the cost is the same as the ETA models.

^^That ad certainly suggests a new movement. It doesn't explicitly say it's in-house from what little French I remember from high school but, assuming the ad is legit, what else would it be?

I don't speak French but this sure sounds like new inhouse movement: nouveau caliber manufacture.

Wow. If that's the case (in-house movement), this watch will be mine. That watch looks fantastic. It's the closest approximation to a classic 60s gilt-dialed Sub Rolex/Tudor has ever made. Will stop by the local AD to hopefully check these out on Friday afternoon.

That doesn't appear to be an advertisement it looks more like a magazine article. I'm guessing they took a wild guess based on limited information when going to print.
