Which comes in at 51 mm , unfortunately it's not available to buy
however you can get a extremely good replica of it and looks exactly the same
And has a Swiss auto movement and Rolex 3135 movement decoration
It can be bought at good Rep dealers for about $500 US dollars .
cool, we love those. What's the website that you use?

Yeah, its a monster. I found it to be too heavy for my tastes. Maybe ok on a RubberB. Looks bad though for sure
I didnt care for the DDSD at all on bracelet, to tall, totally unweildy, and I was a bracelet "purest". When I met Nomadz I was trying to politely figure out a way to ask him what his deal was with those "Natos on Rolexes", I was naive.
Anyhow, after later trying on a DSSD with a RubberB I couldnt believe it was the same watch, it feels like a glove on my wrist, absolutely love the feel and look.
Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?

Not wanting to hijack the thread.. but I've been hankering after a DSSD recently. I've read occasionally that some year models are 'better' than others - can someone school me on that?

I don't think that it has changed much since 2008.
The two models are:
•Rolex 116660
•Rolex 116600 Deepsea Blue

There are a few dial variations (font), but everything else is exactly the same year to year I believe.

Yeah. The only issue that I would look for is that the early ones are definitely due for a service (8 years old). So, you should definitely ask about that if you are going for an earlier model. If serviced, I would go for an early model.

Rolex is starting to talk about 10 year service intervals, which jives with my experience. I'd buy an old, mint, unpolished one and simply check the wr to 100m.

I disagree. The DSSD looks better on a RubberB in real life. I'm not sure it photographs as well. It's also extremely comfortable on the rubber. I found it top heavy on the bracelet.

+1 on this, DSSD on RubberB is such an awesome combo, very comfortable.

Well when you own "that" GMT you would never put it on a NATO laughs !!!. Agreed the DSSD rocks in rubber. Glad it went to a good home. My favorite Rolex by a long ways.
As far as best years. The Gen 1 variant that I got from WU and now Doc W has is generally considered the most desirable variant amongst the TRF/VRF crowd. Functionally they are all the same. Fantastic watch and a relative bargain.

The DSSD are now in the upper range of 116600 pricing. Seem to be a steal at those prices.
Completely unrelated, I was just looking at current 14060 prices. WTF.

I'd rather have a 116600.
