Interesting SubC mod

Post by mattcantwin » Fri Jul 17, 2015 6:37 am

Seller replaced the crystal on his Sub.

Probably kills the ability to service the watch through Rolex.

Seeing so many side by side comparisons that show how the OEM Rolex crystal's AR is lacking,
I think this makes sense when done right.

I don't know if I'd be brave enough to do all that on a brand new watch, but the end result is nice.

Would love to do that to mine someday. Hmm....No date crystal w/ AR underneath = perfect. I wonder who would do the AR?

I'm going to have to try one of these someday....I'm probably one the very few here who haven't so far.

I've read that Rolex puts AR on the underside only in order to make the watch shinier and more eye catching. I kinda doubt this; I suspect a better reason is to avoid scratched AR.

In either case, the 114060 is next on my list.

Feels like the answer to a question no one asked...
