Thanks! I was able to get my great-grandfathers Elgin at Christmas. It doesn't run and needs a bunch of work. The serial number says it was made in 1887.

Here's one for Tissot (Got myself a nice a 70s Seastar last month). Mine has a the Lemania 1271 in it, and I have heard that Tissot often kept the Lemania numbers (which don't correspond to the Tissot)

Bulova starts from 1950 w/ the letter L and the #'ed year
so its L M N ect...
