Story 

A classic pilot watch with a special countdown bezel built for those 'first in, last out'

Inspired by the Special Forces watches of the 60's and 70's, this is an idealized version of the classic tool watch — a minimalist, standard-issue timekeeper designed with the best components for 'go-anywhere' dependability.

Like the timekeeping legends that came before, this watch is built with surgical-grade 316L stainless steel and topped off with a scratch-proof sapphire crystal. At the heart of this corrosion-resistant steel case ticks a super-reliable Swiss quartz Rhonda movement. Topside, the dial is finished with bright, C3 Superluminova for maximum legibility, but left unbranded or 'sterile' — a subtle nod to the gear issued to those flying deep into enemy territory.

Features
•Surgical grade 316L Stainless Steel case
•10 ATM / 100m water resistance
•C3 Superluminova luminous paint for nighttime legibility
•Screw down crown & caseback for superior water resistance
•60 minute 'countdown' mission-timing bezel
•Drilled lugs for easy strap changes
•This watch ships 12/7/15
Sizing 
•Case: 42 mm (without crown)
•Thickness: 10.12 mm
•Lug-to-lug distance: 47mm
•Lug width: 20mm

Is the caseback set in stone?

If not, something with easier battery access, similar to the CWC quartz divers would be awesome!!

I have a plastic marathon- honestly it feels like a $30 watch but it's a perfect beater for me. I had an old steel one too- a buddy has it, and it's way above the plastic version. This seems like a heck of a deal with sapphire too

Yeah, the plastic Marathon Navigator is not well made. Looks and feels very cheap. The bezel action is shameful. The only good thing about it is the tritium tubes.

But the old steel one is the business. Very nice watch.

This one may be a touch small for me, but it's perfect for those with 7.5" or less wrist. It's a good looker and priced right, so will like fly out the door.

I'm pretty hot for that Unimatic, but I really don't need another watch.

Not a bad looking watch. I like the specs and 42mm is just about right for me. I think the crown is a tad small and a chunkier version, or perhaps even an onion crown of sorts would look better. I especially like the compass version with dots instead of numbers on the dial. Gives it a much more of a tool look. I think someone already said it would be perfect for NATOs. It comes in at £175 without shipping so not bad. My only struggle would be paying that for a quartz watch. Am I way wrong with that given the overall specs?
