Why does it matter? It was still illuminating and some of us weren't here then. ;)

I expected the Sinn and Seiko results but the PAM was the surprise to me. I don't think I have ever seen a lume comparo with a PAM in it. Outstanding.

What's up Vbus? Thanks for the experiment,, I thought the Sinn would have won. One of mine was so bright, I had to sell it... Kept me up at night.

Reading old threads is cool, and a good way to learn about the forum. Bumping old threads with worthless comments just bugs.

So, does anyone here know if Seiko uses something different than SuperLuminova?

Yeah, I think Seiko's Lumibrite is probably similar to SL C-3.

The whole idea with the U1 is to have lume that looks very white in daylight, which look great with the red accents. They likely use C1. C3 often has a green cast. Oddly my Sinn 556 lume blows the U1 out of the water and yet still looks very bright white in daylight. No lumed second hand, but this was taken with an iPhone.

Applied thickness of the lume paint must have an effect too. I had an Armida A2 with C3 that glowed as well as my Shogun does and that's saying something. My Mk II LRRP Milsub had BG-W9 (second only in brightness to C3) that didn't come close to the brightness or staying power the others did. C1 is way down the brightness scale.

That's a recurring theme with this thread. Chris started this thing in 2010. Resurrected in 2013, then again in 2014 where it remained amongst the ashes, only to have Alex bump it. A year and a half later.

Alex, exactly what were you searching for that landed you on this old ass thread? I ask because I'm curious how far down this was buried or if it was maybe a page 2 thread in the watch reviews sub forum.

Well friend, to be honest I'm not used to the way things are done in forums as this is the first real active forum I've joined.

I just had some free time on tapatalk and starting browsing all sections of the forum to catch up on what has been going on. I stumbled on this thread, read it, and decided "hey this could be good to keep as reference to dissuade me from buying a U1! Maybe I'll just post a comment!"
.... Unbeknownst to me, commenting on a dead thread actually sends it to the top of the news feeds! I only found that out a couple of days later when someone suggested to ban me for "bumping necro threads".

For that, I'm sorry for upsetting the whole of DWC and I'll make damn sure I read the date before venturing to comment about something. Sorry guys!

Here's a watch (from here's a potato reference):

I don't have a problem with folks bumping old threads, provided the bump brings new information or a new question. Just to bump it to make random comments is kinda annoying.

I think they wanted to ban you not for necro-threads but for for necrophilia. :naughty:
