DOXA 1200t impressions

Post by 425ranger » Fri Feb 28, 2014 6:22 pm

I love this one.... really great watch that exudes class and quality. More than the 750 / 1000... less than 5000.

Initial impression, small dial = small watch. 27mm is small for a 42/43mm watch, it is a porthole design after all. Later the "case focus" look is a watch of weight, height and thickness of the bracelet.

Bracelet is awesome. Clasp is stamped... not as bad as it could be and the overall effect is nice and feels secure.

Over time, the domed crystal, mix of polish and brushed surfaces conspire to draw the eye and interest.

Mine has good hands, nice lacquer look to the paint on them. Dial is rich and clean... and very black. Lume is very good. Dwarf hour hand still plays fuckin' hide and seek games.

1st service will see a black date wheel and polished rice.

750 / 4000 are too wide. 5000 too tall and floppy. 1000 is smaller feeling.....

I like the 1200t and could recommend it in the $1200-1500 range.

Just some cellphone pictures. .. I tried to highlight the points mentioned. ... enjoy.

Solid watch, Bill. I'd buy it from you when you sold it if it was a Pro.

Funny talk about "first service". I don't think the watch is going to live to see that day.

You can't even bring yourself to spell "have" correctly.

Some fancy editing there, Bill. :tap:

All WIN on that one!

I've had every modern Doxa (most twice) and I agree with everything you said. The 1200 is my favorite, although if my wrist was bigger I'd find it small.

Doxa did well on this model

Nice Doxa--I really liked the all white handset of the original Sub1000's..

That 1200 is a good look watch--really like BOR bracelet....

Congrats

After wearing about 10 straps, the most comfortable, well balanced both visually and esthetically is the GGB.

BY FAR.

Note: Yes Darin this is idiotic and Graham I'm sure you know this guy to be an asshole.

I could never get along with the clunky new faux beads bracelets. Agree, GGB and Zulu work...so do old tropics.
