Breitling Superocean Heritage 42

Post by 425ranger » Tue Feb 18, 2014 4:26 pm

I went out on a limb for this one... i wanted my most expensive watch to be smaller and two toned. My wedding ring is gold/plat and I thought it would be a good idea.

Small red gold elements, bezel hands and the "B." I like the metal BUT it is impossible to match.

Brietlings leather straps are very good. They are thick and richly finished.

42mm is the perfect size for a 7.5" wrist IMHO. It is not thick and the lugs reach down slightly in a nice angle.

It is the most dressy real live diver I could see me wearing. I've had all the Rolex's and they are cool, but for me... too much invested in one steel sports watch. I got a Doxa for that role....

Some pictures....

Btw... The gold looks like #1 in the sun (really subtle). It looks like #5 in home accent lighting... a little more gold toned.

I like gold. Nice choice.

Gentle bump with a couple pictures that reflect how it really looks on....

Bonus picture of it not matching my wedding ring.

Glad you're liking it, Bill. I've never tried the SOH, but I do love the model. This particular model is new to me.

I had more $$ I would get the 44 two reg. Chrono. I wanted a dress watch, but love divers for the toughness and WR. This seemed to be a good blend.

If I keep it (I know I know) I have a jeweler who says he can match the red gold in a wedding ring... I am leery but that would be cool. It really isn't pink or yellow, it is beautiful.

Very nice indeed. I didn't know they did a gold bezel variant. I had the plain ol' black.. but loving' the gold.
