Seiko Tuna can series

Post by biggbuzz » Wed Nov 06, 2013 2:30 pm

Hello! And HELP! I'm having problems getting current information about Seiko's "Tuna" series of watches. Problem one - you cannot buy one in Chicago; so I cannot go ask a sales person about it. Problem two - I cannot read Japanese. Problem three - I cannot find detailed information/reviews on the internet. So it is to YOU, the DWC family, I humbly turn to for enlightenment. What Tuna watches are in production today? And what is the difference between the SBD watches, and the SBBN watches. Thank you for any assistance. Biggbuzz

Welcome Michael.

Google you will find loads of info on Tuna's especially on forums like SCWF and WUS Seiko forums.

But I'll try answer some quickies here.

SBDX are auto's and SBBN are quartz.

You can almost buy any Tuna off preowned sales forums or ebay with some patience, luck and finances.

I believe 015, 017 SS tuna's, Darth, Emperor, and SpringDrive Tuna, are all available for sale new.
Buy from one of the three amigo's, Higuchi, Chino, Seiya.
Also in the US, AD's such as AZFineTime, contact Joe as he may be able to facilitate your request.

This chart will give you specs on almost all the shrouded divers out there.
Good luck.

Because of the low yen right now the Tuna market is hot so it's pretty hard to find one right now. Most of the dealers I've looked at are sold out including rakuten and shoppinginjapan.net. As far as research goes I would start with the sbbn017 and sbbn015 and go from there. Both of these models are the stainless versions and both are in production. Enjoy.

Thank you all for your replies. I've always felt there is much more wisdom in the world than we think. Thanks again!

It isn't a safe queen, but it is in nice condition and wears well on the wrist
Wow, sounds great. Can I simply send you my SS# and bank account information?
