Steinhart ocean vintage

Post by tatsnguns » Fri Aug 23, 2013 12:22 am

Hey guys. I recently fell in love and pre ordered the mil spec military ocean vintage. I had heard rumors of how poor the customer service was with this company but nothing after paying not even a email. Wondering if this is normal.

Oh and any owners of this awesome no date classic ? Id love to hear about this watch.

Thanks

I've owned it a few times. It's a nice piece and really good value for the money. I flipped mine to get other stuff, but have found myself wanting another lately.

As for communication, I emailed customer service last week and it took 2-3 days to get a response. I understand they are a small crew and are also in the midst of building a new HQ office, so you should hear from them in a couple days.

I wore mine on NATO and it was a good looking piece.

Not fast on email response as Hoppy points out but they do get back to you. And Aug is a popular month for holiday in Europe so that may slow things down too.

Overall a really good piece. Here's a couple wrist shots on a 7 1/4" wrist...

Cant remember the last time I had a pre ordered watch as my screen saver lol these wristies just tell me im going to love it. Seems like in reviews they seem to hold back praise in only one area and thats the buckle system id guess its cause it doesn't offer a true diver extension. Which is fine since I only dive lake - bathtub depth.

Those large clean lume dots are stunning.

So if steinhart says will be shipping again at the beginning of September then my wait shouldnt be long.

One thing you got to remember is not every one lives on their computer. So sometimes it does take few days to hear back.

Enjoy your new watch.

Good looking watch. Enjoy. Also, please don't say "wristies" anymore.

I've got an 8" wrist, so you'll be fine. I really liked it best on tan or black NATO strap, but leather NATO looks good too.

It's one of those watches that you really like but it is easy to let go. I had mine for a month or so and then it went to Hop and then it went to....Great dial and bezel, just wasn't a "keeper" for me....I agree with Hop, the OVM is meant for a NATO.

Wait one second I think this may be a paradigm shift. You mean folks have lives that they live without the aid or company of a computer device 24-7 =)

Ok so what do folks call wrist shots since " wristies " is a bad term ?

Oh never finished how this ended. It never came only emails every few weeks stating it wasn't coming and saying enf of the month lol I recommended them sub contract out their customer service which I got back a refund and a simple thanks.

So aftermarket 2nd hand is the way to go with these apparently.

I feel they do a good job and build solid watches and take a lot of crap that a few other brands dont have to for building the same homage pieces!

Heard they make great watches I was being serious when I humbly suggested offsetting the costs of customer service to someone else who could handle emails in a timely manner.

Hey guys - Ajax64 (John) has a LNIB OVM he's getting ready to sell. He's sized the bracelet and worn it around the house a couple times, but never outside.
He will be looking for $435 shipped net. PM me and I'll put you in touch with him as he hasn't had time to visit for a while.
