Kobold Seal

Post by Chris S. » Tue Jul 03, 2012 6:23 pm

Well a couple of weeks ago snagged a well loved  Kobold Seal.
I've been wearing it pretty much all the time , what a great honeymoon.
Well it's one Solid SOB !

Well it's a little tall and heavy.
Lume is ok
Spring bars so far won't fit so have to use screw bars.
The bezel is a scratch magnet
There are a bunch of cheap ass copies thanks to the fricker/ kobold divorce.

But the Seal is a Bad Mother..... watch your mouth........

Though it makes no sense, I'll always love Kobold watches. Love it.

I do believe if this was put in safe it would chuck norris roundhouse kick the safe door on its way out. It just looks like it is meant to be worn and used and enjoyed.

Just love the Seal... With all the talk of Kobold, Frickers and Fakes! There is just something so special about the real deal and it's a Seal!

Spring Bars? Embrace the security of the screw bars.

GREAT review Chris ! Easy to understand why you love this one so
much. Seems to have a lot of character to it with a cool attitude, and
ton of class. So the small issues with the lume, or spring bars really must
not be that noticeable at all. Especially when you sit back and enjoy
that beautiful case, and dial. Man oh man, it's NICE ! Just has such a
unique way about it imho. Very glad that you have one Chris, and thank
you for giving us such a great review on it once again.

The SEAL always had a poor reputation for lume. Though none of the SEALs I have had were marked as such, they have "T" dials and hands. Mine may not glow with nuclear power many of you lume whores expect, but is reliable in the middle of the night, many hours after light has touched it.

Congrats on a classic!

I've used 22mm fat springbars on my three Kobolds and didn't have an issue..

I like the Kobold Seal,i cant fault the dial, nice and easy to read at a glance.
The lugs are what put me off a bit, just too long and chunky for me and although i like the bezel, there is enough bare metal there to have your name and address engraved on it
Its one of those watches that i would really like to handle and try on
